Given this is Six Flags we're talking about, that would not surprise me.

I thought six flags has gotten away from building anything over 200 ft...unless its a swing.

At least they use RMC's. CF won't touch them with a 10 foot pole it seems like. Even though some coasters like Mean Streak and Ghost Rider have potential to be world class.

Is it bad that I don't want this "Jersey Giant" to happen for the sole reason of wanting Fury to stay the best for awhile? I'm actually really hoping (Yes, I know its extremely selfish) that Fury becomes the next MF, in that CF refuses to top it for almost 15 years. :D

Yeah, plans unfortunately do change. In fact, I have artwork on my computer from a video of a town council meeting that shows the concept for a wing coaster the park was also considering. And they ended up with a carnival flat.

Great Adventure will very likely get a new coaster soon. But it'll likely be very different than what they were going to get.

Guess I should have been going to more council and planning board meetings when I lived in New Jersey. It's funny how out in the open a lot of this stuff often is without coaster nerds finding out about it.

I pulled the pix from a video that was posted on a coaster centric website and no one on the site noticed because they weren't expecting it to be so open. Hiding in plain sight.

So according to TPR, Kolmården got their permits for Wildfire. I wonder if it will open in 2016 now or if it's getting pushed back a year.

[EDIT] They are shooting for 2016.

Hate to double post, but a new trademark was filed for by Six Flags. While the name is rather generic and uncreative, it seems like it would fit the long rumored 4D coaster at Great Adventure. RMC is going to have a busy year.....

Adventureland Iowa is getting a Eurofighter for 2016: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=lFbW5CcUh-k&feature=youtu.be

Adventureland is proud to announce the construction of “The Monster”, our new steel roller coaster opening in June of 2016!!
With a 2500 foot steel track, 133 foot vertical lift hill, 5 inversions, a 101 degree first drop (that is steeper than anywhere in Iowa or our surrounding states) and 10 “airtime” moments - The Monster is sure to give you a thrilling scare! It will cross our existing Sky Ride 8 times and boasts the first negative-G stall loop in the western hemisphere!

It's funny they are adding a new coaster. For some reason we were over here looking up to see what coasters were in Iowa a few days ago...I mean...who goes to Iowa for coasters? LOL

According to RCDB, this is an Infinity, so hopefully that means the trains will be lap bar-only like Karacho and Junker. And that loop reminds me of Junker. Should provide some sweet hangtime.
