Why would they add another stand up...a far more inferior one at that? (Sure I know about La Ronde and their 2 inverts-Batman Clone & SLC...but let's not go there as that's Six Flags...lol.) If it were to go to another Cedar Fair park, Michigan's Adventure or Dorney are in more need of something...tho I'm sure neither park would want it. It's most likely going overseas somewhere like Skyrider (from Canada's Wonderland) going to Italy.

Have you rode Shockwave in the last 5 years? It's a TOGO Standup. It literally doesn't get worse than that.

While I found Shockwave to be less painful than Vortex, I still don't like either of them. There is potential for Vortex to become something good, (cough cough, a floorless coaster.) Shockwave meanwhile is just a crap pile that needed to go.

I took this screenshot at 11:00 am. Fury is stopped on the lift and I don't see a train on the brake run so its weird if it is a saturday and they only have two trains running. Also I promise the webcam wasn't frozen because Hurler and the rapids were running. Do you guys think a train has valleyed? Although I don't know how that would happen!

They've only been running two trains for awhile I think.. I haven't seen it with three trains since opening day.

I've been going weekly since June and all three trains are on everytime I go. I go on Wednesdays. But since today's a Saturday and it's usually crowded, they usually run three trains. That train has been on the lift since 10 AM. I think there is an issue. Hopefully it's not major. EDIT: train is not on the lift anymore.

Charlotte Business Journal

While studying Carowinds, Cedar Fair determined it should become a top-tier park, bringing in many more guests than the current 2 million a year. That would require expanding attractions. For example, Carowinds had less than half of the number of water-park activities as Kings Island near Cincinnati. Kings Island had 15 family rides, while Carowinds had only eight.

“We felt that it was a park that was undersized for the market,” Frole says. “We really under-invested in Carowinds.”

The determination by Cedar Fair led to a decision in 2013 to build the Fury 325 roller coaster at Carowinds as part of a $50 million expansion and renovation at the park, which spans the Carolina's state line at Interstate 77. “We’re not going to be afraid to spend a little bit,” says Semmelroth, who is based in Charlotte.

The efforts are paying off. Carowinds’ attendance, guest spending, season-pass sales, group bookings and accommodations are all on the upswing.

This made me really excited to see what is to come to Carowinds! Its very relieving to know that THEY know carowinds is lacking in family attractions and could really benefit from more water park to make it a well rounded park.

EVERY time I have been this season both on busy weekends and basically dead weekdays they have been running three trains. The only time I personally have seen other wise is once there was a problem with a locking sensor on the train and they had to pull it off to check it...but it was back up and running within an hour.

Is there a hint buried in what you just said? And like I said in a different thread, I really hope ride-wise they turn Carowinds into Knott's East and really turn Carowinds into a family park.

I don't blame Cedar Fair for the under-investment, it was done by Paramount who allowed the park to fall behind. When they owned the chain, they really only invested heavily in two parks, Dominion & Island. Carowinds is finally catching up.

Really nice picture from Carowinds' twitter:
The thing I like about the new front gate is that when you're walking up the path, it feels like you're visiting a national monument instead of an amusement park. It's really open and really sets the mood for the day.
