General Carowinds discussion

Secrecy comes with the job. This has become such a competitive business. It really isn't about keeping secrets from us so much as keeping it a secret from the competition. Although, i do think that the hype drives sales in the future though. I'm already excited to see what is in store for 2016.

I'm only going to state this one time. As if it wasn't blatantly stated earlier.
My only reason for that post was to say that it's a 50/50 chance that it could happen. And I'll be honest, I hope it does.

There was no lesson to be learned.
They theirselves were unsure of what Cedar Fair wanted to do. Some ideas were thrown into the equation. Now they're just waiting on Cedar Fair management to make the final call.
I know that Most of you are much smarter than I am  . You don't have to put much stock into what I say, let alone even listen. I honestly don't care otherwise, however, I do like voicing my opinion in a respectable manor. You know my position on this whole Vortex thing. In my opinion, I hope that it does happen. I get a headache every time I ride it
( a head like mine aught to hurt anyway  )

Expect big changes over the next three seasons.

Might as well:
If Vortex were to get changed into a floorless and rethemed, what theme and color scheme would you like to see?

The lesson went over your head. You made an absolute statement. Based off of hearsay. From someone who has the power in their position to be untruthful. Now you're mad people are bringing it up.

You tried to say it wouldn't happen when the CEO of the company himself said it was possible. Because a lower member of management told you something.

I'm trying to be helpful. I know a thing or two.

I"m not mad, Edwardo. In fact thank you for being helpful. There was no lesson because I had already learned it before the Winter Warm-up (when I brought the topic up). At the time, the park wanted to leave Vortex alone, since it is one of the last remaining Stand-up coasters. Hence why I stated that back in January. However, if Cedar Fair thinks it's necessary, they will either transform Vortex, make it more comfortable as a stand-up, or remove it entirely.
They have no reason to lie considering that I'm collaborating with them on the 2017/2018 project.
I really can't even say that. But oh well...
I would love a Vortex transformation and I hope that it does happen. I'm not very attached to it.
However, Carowinds having a stand-up coaster, in a way, makes the park unique.

It gives you a headache? The worst aspect of that ride for me is that it is painful to certain aspects of the male anatomy. Which is why I am not necessarily a fan of those stand up coasters. But it is the woodies that tend to give me a headache.

Any normal enthusiasts would listen to Park Management and take it as a fact.

Maybe Mike doesn't know the fate of Vortex, maybe he didn't know the fate of Thunder Road. Maybe he did and only tells what he wants us to hear, the fact is it was said by the park's GM which most people will assume knows everything Carowinds.

I was told by a former Carowinds Manager that Cedar Fair controls pretty much all decisions and Park Management makes any daily operations decisions. That being said, the fate of any ride is not known for a fact by any Carowinds Manager until Cedar Fair makes the Final Decision.

I don't understand why Josh keeps getting this tossed back at him. Don't shoot the messenger!

I knew it was thunder roads last season and if I was a betting man the powers that be knew also. You don't think that big splash wasn't planned and semi finalized at the time of furys announcement last year? Don't be so gullible. You were told that when??? Let me guess...2005-6? A whopping 10 years ago...during a time when a coaster taller than millinium force outside of cedar point was blasphemy? The messenger has the authority to present the message as they see fit. Me, personzy, will never say for sure something IS. I will tease, hint, "speculate". Ut will never yes/no anything because things change.

I kind of wish everyone would give Famousamos a break. He may have made a mistake but it is not right for everyone on the forum to...what I feel like...gang up on him! Just let it go! Also interested in the 2017/18 project amos! Hmmm?

Don't think anyone is ganging up on him. Just trying to get him to understand that just because says it is doesn't mean it always is. Parks compete and a lot of info in intel. They throw folks off by telling half truths. Wasn't intimidator white lightin'? Before it was announced officially?

Also trying to get him to understand that its also not the best of practices to announce the park had him doing something if he can't talk about it. You never see the people who the animations for the park say they are working on a top secret project for said park, nor do you see contractors on fb saying they are working on something top secret for a park. sometimes its best to keep everything to yours until the park is ready to talk about it.

Thanks Jarvis.
Yes, In the early months of this year, (judging by what the park considers a unique coaster  ), I was completely under the impression that they did not want to mess with Vortex. But, seeing as Rougarou has had a [s]big[/s] success, Cedar Fair may want to change all of their Stand-ups. So now, I'm at the point where it can happen, or it won't happen, and that's it.

I can relate this to Thunder Road in a way of not being too complacent.
At first, I was also under the impression that they wouldn't tear it down, so it would be here for it's 40th year. Obviously, we now know that it was in the park's plans already to tear it down (I'd say they've planned it two years ago at least).
I am not upset by it. I'm not mad about it, in fact, I am kinda happy they're tearing it down. Same way I'd be happy if they change Vortex or tear it down completely.

But back to the topic, I like where this RCT3 recreation is headed and I'd like to see more updates on it :)
