...from a few pages back, I often saw Bart in the park like I often see Mike in the park. The only difference between them is that Mike always says a friendly 'hi' to me and shakes my hand. Bart never acknowledged me the few times I tried to say hi. :( The other difference I see is that Carowinds is getting the 'Dorney Park treatment' under Mike, in which the landscaping always looks fresh, lots of fresh painting has been done, making many areas of the park look cleaner and more upkept. I didn't see as much of that under Bart.

'Rome wasn't built in a day' I'm sure refers to all the future expansions of Carowinds including Fury 325. It goes along with a lot of the other news and rumors we are hearing about continued large investments in Carowinds, making it the new 'Rome' of Cedar Fair. I think it will be more evident 5 - 10 years from now.

Going back to the Intimidator merch thing, do you think it costs more to theme both coasters and it would be cheaper to use the name for one coaster? I think we should keep the theme down here where NASCAR is pretty much the soul of Charlotte. I feel like the name just works better at Carowinds and I305 could get a new theme to match the safari village.

Speaking of upkeep, I wish young people would keep gum in their mouths or at least put it in the trash cans. I work at a college and it is a very bad situation. What gives people the right to think they can stick gum anywhere? It really pisses me off when I put my hand on a big wad stuck behind a hand rail. Is it a game for some folk, like the girl licking doughnuts in a shop?

I always figured that they intended for Centurion to be the new "Millennium Force" for Cedar Fair (get it Millennium/Century), in that it would have been 100 meters tall (328 ft.) and that would account for the theme/name, not Rome. As for the teasers, my guess is that the word Centurion is often equated with ancient Rome and perhaps would have had that loose theme, if the name actually got used... Then they found out they couldn't use the name, and decided of Fury 325 and cut about 3 feet from the height.

Could be wrong though.

I believe that trademark is still suspended.

I'm right there with you all on the gum. That's a big pet peeve of mine.

Wow, I didn't know the black spots were gum either. We should start sending off samples to a DNA lab...

Because of the crazy lines for the security check, I no longer go right when the park opens. If I want to wait in long lines, I would just ride Rip Roarin' Rapids all day. :sarcasm:

So, I feel like the security check cuts in on my park time.

I plan on going tomorrow, but I'm not sure what the weather is going to be like. It is currently thundering really bad down here in Spartanburg.
