General Carowinds discussion

Landscaping is excellent. Its everywhere and well maintained.

Live entertainment quality is excellent. I understand it is D & G Productions or something like that. I was told they are doing all Cedar Fair live entertainment. If so, that explains the high quality at most of their parks.

Ignite the Night deserves a better venue than the makeshift stages with limited bench seating.

Food quality is good. Especially considering Kings Island & Cedar Point have some of the worst amusement park food out there.

Only one side of Thunder Road running - HUGE disappointment as racing is half the thrill. The least they could do is run both sides in its last days.

Nobody in the park. Only narrow front park of the parking lot being used. Fury had a 5 minute wait in the afternoon. Not sure how they justify investing in huge rides when the attendance is so low.

Overall the park is clean and well maintained. Doesn't really create many special experiences since the theming is so random these days.

Did you happen to go by the water park. I can bet most of the patrons were over there. Those slides always have line and both pools full...

Can we replace Carolina Cobra with one of these?
Vekoma Family Boomerang
It would be really awesome if they could enclose it and theme it heavily (maybe Blackbeard?). I know this is extremely unlikely, especially for a Cedar Fair park, but it could be fun with the good Vekoma trains (Expedition Everest Style). With the right theme it could be one of those rides that entertains families and thrill seekers. Kind of like Verbolten. Just a thought.

The stuff Vekoma has been putting out as of late is actually pretty good. I hope they can start the resurgence of swinging coasters. But that's just me daydreaming.

Freedom Flyer looks alright I guess, the restraints certainly look promising. As for Stingray, if it were any good then I think we would've seen more than one built in the past six years. But hey, that's coming from a guy who despises Vekoma with a passion.

Almost nothing would please me more than for Carolina Cobra cease to exist, and I wouldn't mind seeing Nighthawk go but that's just because I want to open up the lake. Flying Ace would be tolerable with the newer vekoma restraints found on Freedom Flyer and Tornado. But I'd love to see Vekoma build another swinging suspended coaster, something more along the lines of an arrow version. If Vekoma could create a modern Eagle Fortress, but with their floorless swinging cars.... I would marathon Carolina Cobra for three hours after eating three buckets of crabfries in 100+ degree weather just to experience it.

[EDIT] And I don't mean I want one to come to Carowinds. We don't have the trees or terrain for something like that. But if Silver Dollar City or Dollywood built a vekoma eagle fortress, I'd be in heaven. If this idea is a actually plausible, I will add a fourth bucket of crabfies and a couple spins on scrambler to the list of insane things I'd do to experience a modern Eagle Fortress.
