Back in 2005, the view of the park was awesome from the pool area.

What's the best attack plan for Cedar Point? I'm planning on hitting Dragster first before the line gets out of control, but what else should I hit? Maverick? Millennium Force? Do any other rides usually get slammed?

^ When I went in June Maverick and TTD had crazy long lines, MF had an ok line (great capacity), everything else (GateKeeper, Rougarou, Raptor, Gemini, Blue Streak, Mean Streak, Magnum) had pretty short lines if any at all. If you get early entry then I would recommend Maverick first (I got 2-3 rides in a row with almost no waits) and then wait for TTD to open, because it usually/sometimes opens late. After you have ridden those as much as you can, you have the rest of the day to ride everything else.

Another question, how long do sandusky storms last? Can we still enjoy the park or will the weather throw off everything? I know some of the rides close due to rain, but it shouldn't ruin our trip, right? We are visiting Sunday and Monday.

^ I would say it depends (mostly on luck). For me, I got to the park about 20 min. after the rain stopped, and the park was empty. I got to ride about 5 rides that had no line. The next day, it started pouring at about 4PM and we had to leave, but we were staying at the Hotel Breakers so it wasn't too bad. We come back to the park around 7 or 8 after we had eaten dinner, and again, there were no lines. I didn't have too many problems with rain shutting rides down, but I did notice that TTD and Maverick opened a little later then the other rides. So in the end, my advice is with a little luck and some strategy to work around the rain, it could even improve your visit.

*Sorry for the double post*
I was wondering if anyone had a park suggestion for me. I am going up to Baltimore, Maryland on a family trip for thanksgiving and I was wondering what parks you would suggest. I already looked at Six Flags America and Hershey but SFAm is closed at that time, and all except 2 rides at Hershey are closed at that time... :eh: Any responses would be helpful!

EDIT: Jay beat me to it

Sorry, nothing from me. If you want to visit parks around Thanksgiving, your best bet is heading south to FL or west to CA. You'll be hard pressed to find much open that time heading north. I've checked numerous times since Thanksgiving is a great time to travel.

Thanks for all of the Cedar Point advice! We're in Cleveland right now, but we are staying at Breakers Express for two nights. I can barely contain my excitement! :D

just got back from a 6 day trip to orlando. I was on the fence about getting the photo connect while at universal. I decided to get it and I can tell you it was well worth it. I ended up with about 70 pictures between the 2 parks that I would not of been able to take myself. I highly recommend it if you make a trip to universal.

Before I get ahead of myself, we did add a trip this year. We'll be going to Lake Winnie soon. Since I also have to go to Canada in the next few months, I'm trying to work it out to hit La Ronde.

It's never too early to start 'speculating' on 2016 parks and trips, though. We are past due on a big road trip, so if all goes as planned, we should be heading to Colorado next year. That would include:

Six Flags St. Louis
World's of Fun
Elitch Gardens
Lakeside Amusement Park
Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park
Lagoon
Adventureland
Six Flags Great America

We will also go to Carowinds.

Have you started thinking about 2016 yet? What parks do you think you will go to?

So many options, I want to hit Family Kingdom but KD's new addition is really tempting. However Lightning Rod makes me want to do another Dollywood(last one was 2011). I think the only park I am putting off the table for 2016 is Six Flags Over Georgia, their additions since 2006(my last trip there) just aren't as impressive as Kings Dominion(last and only trip was 2001) or again Dollywood just since 2011. I can only pick one for budget reasons.
