Family and I went back yesterday (Sunday) and we're getting ready to leave now to go back (First in!).

The crowds were non-existent on Sunday thank the lord and my family and I were able to ride back to back and get a lot of cool Thunder Road merchandise.
They're giving out full size posters now that have a photo of TR on them with the two state flags bordering the top and bottom, and then for people who get there later you just get a pin. :|

I will try and be one of the first people to ride this morning so we can snag a few more of those sweet posters.
The good thing about going on weekdays is that you really don't have to fight people over the merchandise or good front row seats.

The down side is that the employees have been asking if you already got merchandise and they're only giving one per person now but sometimes they forget what I look like and give me 2 or 3 of them!!!  (Good for me!)

I really hope on the last day they go out and cut up the track and give me a few pieces because that would be some really nice merchandise!

Want to own a piece of Son of Beast? Well fret no longer. Kings Island, via their Facebook account, posted that they will now be selling off bits and pieces of the now defunct wooden looping hyper coaster. Prices range from $99.99 for a piece of track, $49.99 for a piece of structure, and $24.99 for a bolt. All parts will come with a wood laminate plaque with the ride's service time, logo, and picture of the ride itself. Interested customers are encouraged to call Kings Island at 513-754-5776 from 9am-5pm Monday through Friday. Items are sold on a first come-first serve basis.

Yeah only 6 more days, and speaking of that. It isn't every day you get to see a wooden coaster blown up by a demolition crew.

I know me and my buddies from work will be coming on the 27th in my tailgating truck (that we used at Super Bowl XLIX) to cook some hamburgers and hotdogs in the topgun parking lot and watch them put the shape charges on the footers of Thunder Road. then we will see the big boom!!

I hope the removal looks like this so we get a nice show

While SeasonDiningPlan is gathering his cookout supplies :lolno:, local media is swarming to cover Thunder Road’s last week; you should probably expect to see some reporter coverage Sunday if you're there. (Hopefully WSOC’s Chopper 9 pilots don’t work weekends). Too many to mention and link to, but this is one of the better ones so far, and worth watching.
