Just curious what others opinions are.
Since you can only have 10 options if you don't see your favorite reply with its name. I'd also love to hear reviews of some of the rides! :D

I believe this is how I would rank the ones I have been on. I'm only counting what I see as traditional hyper coasters, not things like dive coasters, Intamin launchers, etc, and only ones that are between 200 and 300 feet tall.

1. Magnum XL 200
2. Bizarro
3. Phantom's Revenge
4. Behemoth
5. Diamondback
6. Apollo's Chariot
7. Skyrush
8. Intimidator
9. Goliath (Georgia)
10. Nitro
11. Steel Force
12. Ride of Steel/Superman: Ride of Steel
13. Wild Thing
14. Silver Star
15. Mamba
16. Raging Bull

I might be biased because Carowinds is my home park, but I vote Intimidator out of the ones I have ridden (I've only ridden 6) Intimidator is so airtime-filled and smooth, but all of the ones I have ridden are really fun and in my top 25 coasters.

This is how I rank them:

1) Intimidator
2) Apollo's Chariot
3) Diamondback
4) Goliath (SFOG)
5) Magnum XL 200

1) Intimidator
2) Diamondback
3) Apollo's Chariot
4) Magnum XL 200

Magnum was kinda meh for me, nothing but a pain fest really. Apollo's Chariot was just as meh as Magnum but without the pain. Diamondback was fantastic but I still have to give the edge to Intimidator for stronger airtime.

1. Goliath SFOG
2. Magnum XL 200
3. Intimidator
4. Apollo's Chariot

I probably rank Magnum a little higher than I should. It has good airtime, but I tightened my seatbelt to the point of discomfort so instead of just flying into the lap bar, I flew into the seatbelt and got punched in the stomach five times. It was my first hyper coaster though, so it's placing as my honorary no. 10 is due to nostalgia and its history in the coaster wars.

I'm pretty sure I've only ridden 6 hypers. I don't particularly like ranking coasters because I feel like I'm not good at it. I wouldn't be confident in choosing one over another unless I rode them on the same day, because I don't remember every detail of every ride I've ever ridden. I really just kind of remember how I felt riding it.

That being said, I would say my top 3 are Intimidator, Diamondback, and Bizarro (SFNE). I couldn't make a concrete fact-based argument for why I like these better than Nitro, Magnum, or Steel Force though. It's really just about feelings. I love Intimidator and it's only one of two (along with Nitro) that I've ridden more than once. I remember really enjoying Diamondback, ad even thinking "Wow this might be even better than Intimidator" and same for Bizarro.

Don't fret about it too much, no one is going to hold you to it or quiz you later. What I do, as what I did last week when I ranked my woodies is just take two coasters and then make a gut decision on which one I would rather ride right now given the choice. Do this enough, and a list forms. Like for example, I *know* Legend isn't as good as Grizzly when Legend is running it's best. But right now, given the choice, I would take the one ride on Grizzly before the one ride on Legend, since Legend was running "poorly" on my last visit versus Grizzly which was running incredible. So I guess my list isn't really a "favorites" or "best" but just "rides ordered by what I would choose to ride first."

Back on topic.. my favorite Hyper is Expedition GeForce at Holiday Park in Germany.. who cares if it's only 173 feet.

Phantom's Revenge. Having just ridden it again after a Decade, it is firmly cemented as my 3rd favorite coaster overall and my favorite Hyper. I just wish it were longer.

The only park I've ever been to is Carowinds, so I guess Intimidator would be my favorite Hyper. However, I would probably chose Diamondback if I ever get the chance to ride it.

I thought Diamondback would crush Intimidator until I visited KI last month. The airtime on Diamondback was nonexistent, except in the front seat, and it just was overall not as good as Intimidator IMO (Although being in the woods while riding is pretty awesome)

I feel like that's got to just be in your head. I've been on both rides many times and the airtime is basically the same. Which makes sense because both rides are precisely engineered with the exact same calculations and hill profiles. The three Cedar Fair B&Ms are really so close there isn't a ton of difference. I liked Behemoth best because of the extra camelback and Diamondback next because it's in the woods and it has more going on at the last section of the ride.

Not that I'm trying to tell you your opinion is wrong, but I really think if you measured the forces on all three rides you'd find they were very close.

I'm sure they all are about the same, and considering that I find myself to be quite biased around Carowinds, I wouldn't be surprised if they all had the same amount of airtime.

On a different note, since I'm going to be visiting Dorney next year, can anyone tell what to expect from Steel Force? (Other than "Its Rough")
