This is nothing we didn't already pretty much know, but Mike Fehnel commented on why Thunder Road is coming down:

"The decision to close Thunder Road," said Carowinds general manager Mike Fehnel, "was really made by park patrons. “People vote with their feet; (Thunder Road) ridership was down,” Fehnel said.

Family and I went back today at 10 when the park opened. ( And we will be back tomorrow as well)
People taking pictures like crazy. and getting their last ride on.

Lot of people there were trying to get the posters. I luckily scored 5 by having my family go through twice.
Get em while they're hot folks. Gonna be regretting it down the line when TR is gone and the posters are all thats left!!

The idea of someone getting more than one poster actually makes me kind of angry. You even mentioned earlier that they said "only one per person" and yet you continue to be selfish. What are you even going to do with 10 of the same poster? Sell them? Hoard them? Either way I see something dishonest, selfish, and greedy.

Maybe I sound harsh, but seriously. You only need one.

Well that depends on who is operating the ride that day. Who is supervising.
Today they didn't ask "one per person". It was just first come first serve.
I have a method for getting them quickly but I don't want to spoil it for now. . :wink:

Lastly. I really hope they run the SC side backwards tomorrow for the grand finale.
I asked guest services if they would consider it but no guarantee was made.

and P.S to answer your question.
We're getting them because we show up every morning at 10am and stand in the lines . .

^^ Mike said on the Periscope stream that in order to turn it around backwards they have to switch around the placing of the brake's and the placement of the anti rollbacks, along with all of the sensors along the ride. They wanted to but there just wasn't enough time.

(My guess as to what he's planning on doing with all the extra posters is that he'll try to sell them on eBay or something to make money off them...)
