It's really smooth. I'm a huge Steel Force fan but I don't think it gets much love these days. It's not super intense but it's really long and has some nice airtime on the return leg. I like the tunnels too and the huge sweeping turnaround. It's just a ton of fun. It gets overlooked because it doesn't have that balls to the walls intensity that everyone is all about these days. The back car is really fun but the best seat might be the third row in the last car (like Magnum and Phoenix).

It looks like Dorney is doing some significant land clearing so maybe they will build a new coaster next year.

I don't know how I feel about this topic being a poll. It seems like the hypers with the most votes are the ones more people have ridden and not which one is actually the best. I'm not saying it's wrong to like Intimidator the most, I just think it's a little biased due to this being a Carowinds fan site and some of the hypers being closer than others.

I think the Morgan hypers look fantastic and I've heard nothing but good things about Steel Eel. Mexican Superman looks really good as well. Hopefully Chance gets around to making a full sized hyper.

It would be kind of pointless to select a coaster you hadn't ridden and claim it as your favorite. The whole point is to select what your favorite hyper is among people on this site. I understand there are some left out, but since you can only set 10 choices when creating a poll, the more popular ones/closest ones were most likely selected. This is just a fan-site poll...not an official published reputable poll like USA Today or anything.

Yes, this poll is pointless but aren't most polls when you get right down to it? While there are a lot of people on here who haven't ridden as many coasters, there are some others who are well seasoned. Everybody is welcome here regardless of how many coasters you have ridden and there is little to no ridicule based on your 'count.'

Based on our location, it is kind of expected that this list would tend to lean towards those rides that are in closer proximity to the Carolinas but it's not a scientific ranking anyway. Are most of them?

Our love of coasters is almost entirely subjective, but I learned some years ago that you can't base anything from a POV and someone's commentary on it - the only way to base is a ride is to ride it. And also what I have learned from some other seasoned friends (whom I met on here, coincidentally) is that you can't judge a coaster on a single ride. You have to ride it multiple times from different spots to get a true feel for it. That is why I stopped ranking coasters, especially the steel ones.

Steel Eel, I didn't like so much, but I was only able to ride it one time. I know plenty of others who think it is a great ride but I haven't passed judgement on it, waiting until I can ride it at least a few more times. Steel Force is an excellent coaster and often underrated IMO. The camelbacks on the return run - WOW. You won't have any idea based on a POV, you have to ride it to understand. I would be happy to have that coaster in my home park.

And just to add to your point, I hated Steel Force(less) and probably ride it 15-20 times because I made the mistake of getting stuck at Dorny for an entire day one (no one needs more than two hours, ever).

Steel Eel, though, I thought was amazing. The only Morgan anywhere close to Phantom.

Yeah, I only rode it three times because I only budgeted about 4 hours there and that was more than we needed. 15-20 times and I would most likely have a different opinion of it.

Weather also plays a factor. Many of us on here have ridden Intimidator 150+ times in all kinds of weather and temperatures so we know when it's at its best and when it isn't, giving us better insight into the ride which also affects our opinion.

Mine would have to be Magnum. What an amazing coaster. It's by far the wildest ride I've experienced on a hyper. It's a complete ride with everything you'd want, height (obviously), speed, floater air, and WOW that ejector air. Not to mention she's pretty to look at...
