Yes indeed. It was a great turn out and seeing so many CC members for me was better than seeing all the ACErs. Not that I'll remember everyone after just one meet but putting faces with names helps.

I finally saw Edwardo. I got my eyes on you! J/K

We had to leave after the CC photo and final ride on Thunder Road but I always enjoy the conversation and meets up with everyone here, regardless of flame ups or difference of opinions that we at times show here.

Thank you for the update on Howard and tell him we are thinking of him.

Have any of you been to Dollywood in late December? What was your trip like? Was everything open? We want to go, but the only time we might have available is at the end of December. What would you recommend? Thanks for the help :)

Everything is open, but that late in the season everything is open if the temps are ok. For our ACE event in late November we've had issues with morning ERT and night ERT being cancelled because of temps so if you are going a month later the potential for everything to be closed a good bit of the day due to temps is pretty high.

I loved the November event at Dollywood last year (and they were very kind to modify our ERT when the weather wasn't cooperating...) Their Christmas light display is beautiful, and their shows are awesome! There's plenty to do at that time of year, but it is important to know a lot of the rides don't operate if it's too cold. (I think the threshold for most of them is 40 degrees.)

I think 40° is a good average number to go by. I think Mystery Mine is the first to go down because of temps as it's somewhere around 42° and FireChaser is quick to follow. Wild Eagle and Tornado are around 40°, and Thunderhead is around 38°. I do know that it will vary from day to night though. What I mean by that, is if the rides run all day and it drops down to the upper 30's that night they can still run them for a short amount of time. But if the temps continue to fall, say... mid 30's, then there done regardless of how much they ran during the day.
