General Carowinds discussion

^ The station was practically empty during our last rides. Thanks Josh and Chip for putting together a great event.

This was my second opportunity to meet CC members. Both times the group has been friendly and inviting. I've forgotten many names, but it was great to hang out with everyone.

I'm so sad that I had to miss out on the meetup! I was feeling really sick from the heat at the time and just needed some time to cool off/drink some water. It looks like you guys had an amazing time, hopefully I'll be able to join in the next one!

I never post on here but since I met a few of you fellas, seems fitting that I start somewhere. I had an absolute blast! I've been going to Carowinds since the early 90's and once we hit the new entrance my mind took me back in time and what transformation! I rode fury for first time and thunder road for the last time. It was euphoric yet overshadowed by the loss of thunder road. I will miss thunder road but fury Is thing of beauty.

I saw the bald gentlemen in the blue, black, white shirt there on the last ride we did.

He was the one shouting "PUSH THE BUTTON!" and getting angry at the ride attendants, as most of us were feeling the same but didn't speak up about it.

I'm glad someone spoke up about the last ride wait times. so I salute you sir. the unsung hero

I REALLY enjoyed meeting everyone. I had a great time. This was my first time doing something like this and would love to do it again sometime. I think the picture turned out great too.

Not surprised at all. I was in line for the front row when Edwardo voiced his frustration. It felt like we hadn't moved in forever.

The ride ops were not singing to delay hitting the button. They kept stopping the trains on the hill to tell people to put thier phones away, which delayed the next dispatch.

Ah that makes more sense now.
I didn't pull my phone out on the ride. It was too dark for the sensor to pickup anything regardless but..

My opinion, the phones away is a dumb policy because you know darn well once they go over that hill the phone will be right back out, and there isn't exactly any way to stop people from doing it.

Heck I even saw a guy pull his phone out on the Fury 325 hill and tried recording on the first drop LOL.(nearly fell out of his hands) :lolno: :lolno:

In the end I'm glad that he was yelling. I was feeling frustrated for myself and everyone else having to waste time for last rides. I decided to mentally block that as my last ride and just remember how fun it was in the morning before the station got crowded and the trains got delay after delay.
