Sand where Thunder Road now stands. That sounds feasible.

I guess I'm the only one who loves body slides? I've never had a problem with them hurting me, however, vanish point at water country usa made me feel like I was drowning with the influx of water. Body slides are the only slides I feel are terrifying . . .

I swore off Pipeline Peak years ago. Sliding in the dark feeling like I was about to drown was just not that much fun. Plus, my last ride on it I managed to get a nice burn above my elbow as I made too much contact with a dry part of the slide. I don't mind the tube slides at all, though.

The exact same thing happened to me on that slide and is why I will not ride it again. I still have a small scar from it actually. I like adrenaline not feeling like I'm being drowned.

And all my life I've been told black folks don't like water/getting wet! You guys dissapoint me hahaha. Although all the body slides I've been on were translucent with the exception of pipeline peak . . . And most have been the drop box style.

Our local waterpark added a beach area several years back (complete with white sand everywhere - no concrete), and while it won't hold a lot of people because it's on the smaller side, it's a very nice, relaxing area of the park. If Carowinds was to add something like this, except on a large scale, and call it Carolina Harbor, and then redo the existing waterpark with a few new slides (and paint on the old ones) I think it would go over very well.

Here are a few pics of the Clearwater Key beach area at our waterpark, Geyser Falls.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way. I call those body slides "Drowning: The Ride." Plus, it scratches up your back! I've seen more than one person get off with their back looking bright red.

I like the tube slides, although the enclosed ones get pretty muggy when it's really really hot out.
