At approximately 5 p.m., a guest entered a restricted, fenced area of the Raptor roller coaster and was struck by the ride. Park safety officials responded immediately to the situation. Unfortunately the guest has passed away. Local authorities are on the scene conducting an investigation.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family at this time.

Is this terrible news? Yes. Do I feel terrible for both parties (that being the families involved and the park)? Yes. But he had no business being in that area in the first place. This is so weirdly similar to the incident that happened with the teen who was struck and killed by Batman at SFOG several years back. Just don't go into restricted areas and you'll be safe.

It's hard for me to fathom the thought process that leads a teacher in his mid-40's to climb over that fence and into the path of that coaster. Could he have been delirious from heat exhaustion? A series of tragic decisions!

You won't go nearly as fast as I will for thinking what I was thinking...

This won't have nearly the impact that Raptor had on him.
