I might be able to go to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure as a final 2015 trip other than Carowinds (I want to go before Hulk closes :( ) . In 2016 I hope to go to Dollywood and maybe KD, but I don't want to go there before they get their rumored big attraction in 2017. Maybe if another fairly close park announces something large I will go there too.

So I went to Six Flags America today, and I loved it! We got there at 2:30 so we stayed for 6 and a half hours until it closed, but honestly I could have spent an entire day there from open to close. Their shows sounded interesting, there were some flats I didn't get to do, and several of their rides were re-rideable. I just thought it was such a cute park! I also went to SFOG last Sunday and I would definitely choose to go to SFA a second time before SFOG (though I probably won't go again for a while since its 6 hours away from home and 10 hours away from school). I loved Roar! Maybe I'll post more about it later (but I probably won't)

I will try to go to Dollywood next summer if I end up being in my hometown at all. If not, I'll go as soon as I can! That's the top park on my list with Lightning Rod now.

^Hoping to visit SFOG in a month or so. Having not ridden a B&M flyer, Superman really interests me. Plus, everyone always has good things to say about Goliath and the Batman clones.

On another note, I just got back from Dollywood today and had a great time. Though nothing has really changed since I went last year, I still loved re-riding everything again. Wild Eagle really impressed me and Thunderhead went from being a “meh” coaster for me to becoming my favorite woodie! Firechaser, Mystery Mine and Barnstormer were all fantastic as always, as was the 1 pound slice of pizza from the Lumberjack's Pizza near Mystery Mine. Speaking of food, my family and I managed to snag five loaves of the glorious cinnamon bread before we left.

Since I'm a credit whore, I got my first ride on the park's kiddie coaster as well as two rides on both of the nearby alpine coasters. Though similar, they were both fantastic and provided a thrilling ride, (as long as you never applied the brakes :) )
All in all, I had a great trip and can't wait to ride what will most likely be my first RMC there next year!

Still a busy rest of the year for me. Looking at:

September:
ACE Riding of the Bull at Great Adventure
Adventureland Long Island
Six Flags New England

October:
Knoebels PPP
*Maybe* Tivoli Gardens and Liseberg (a pipe dream at the moment but I'm hoping to make it work)

Not sure what next year holds yet. Probably Dollywood opening weekend, Holiday World/Kentucky Kingdom for Holiwood Nights, then California in the fall.

I was wondering if anyone had a park suggestion for me. I am going up to Baltimore, Maryland on a family trip for thanksgiving and I was wondering what parks you would suggest. I already looked at Six Flags America and Hershey but SFAm is closed at that time, and all except 2 rides at Hershey are closed at that time... :eh: Any responses would be helpful!

Busch Gardens will be open . . .

Gabed…there are actually THREE alpine coasters within 10 miles of Dollywood. Two in Pigeon Forge (Goats on the Roof and Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster) and one in Gatlinburg (Gatlinburg Alpine Coaster). Another one is scheduled to open at Ober Gatlinburg by the end of this month (but I wouldn't hold my breath because it's been under construction for a loooong time and the opening keeps getting delayed…) Anyway…there's at least one more you can add to your count on your next visit! :)

My year ended up getting totally screwed. Our company lost our biggest client, and although we still are in business, our income was pretty much cut by 75% when we lost it. I've started a new job outside of our business, and my husband has, as well. So…there's not as much disposable income as before and not as much time for fun trips. The only thing I definitely have planned for later this year is more Carowinds and Dollywood for Smoky Mountain Coasterfest. I'll try to hit up the alpine coasters I haven't done yet when I'm there. I may try to make a trip to SFOG during their holiday event since I'll have a few weeks off around Christmas and we have a Six Flags season pass. Also, I'd love to make a trip to Six Flags America sometime, since I don't plan to renew the pass next year and I'd like to go when it's still free.

For next year, I'm planning on a Platinum Pass, so there will be trips to Carowinds, my first trip ever to Cedar Point (and Kings Island) and Kings Dominion. If I go back home (Arkansas) anytime next year, I'll prob drive a couple of hours north and use it at Worlds of Fun since I haven't been there in a few years. I'll also get a Dollywood pass, so I'll be getting some Lightning Rod action, too! There are so many parks on my wish list (I'm old and don't have nearly enough credits for my age!), but I have a feeling time/work constraints and budget constraints are gonna limit me next year. :(

Lord a mercy girl - did you hit your head while you were there? LOL! You must've had a COMPLETELY different experience at SFA than most others have, especially to choose it over SFOG.

I was excluding employees/visitors since they can be across the board rude at all parks. I was basing my comment off of ride variety/selection and landscaping.

Well, after my visit about 2 weeks ago, i'd rather do SFA than SFOG. Went on a sat, no lines, all rides running, no using the mic to be the next rap star and very minimal OOOHHH YYYEEAAAAAHHH'ing.

Glad it wasn't just my family and me. We're not planning a trip to SFOG anytime soon since our last experience wasn't very good. Thankfully we have a membership right now so our passes don't expire as long as I don't cancel it so I don't have to worry about renewing passes. ;)

Been there, done that. I thought someone was having a rap battle with the Kool-aid man on Goliath once, lol.
