Hills.....
Have you been to Dollywood or Six Flags Over Georgia?

Carowinds has like one hill in the whole park, the one that Planet Snoopy, Afterburn and Boo Blasters sit on. The rest of the park is like a big Plateau with Thrill Zone, the parking lot and behind the scenes sitting lower than the plateau. I like hills and trees.

New entrance to County Fair. This would also eliminate having to walk UP the mountain and then back DOWN the mountain just to get there. I think the hill is one of the biggest problems that County Fair faces albeit mostly subliminal

Remove the old Jalopy queue line building (the current entrance to Whitewater Falls). Move the entrance to Whitewater falls to the water-park side. Since Whitewater falls is below ground level, build a bridge over the "brake run" (if you want to call it that) as the entrance to County Fair. (see highlight on pic)

Keep the current 2 other County Fair entrances as well to have access from South Gate and to the Snoopy/Chick fil A area. Then, when you're standing at WINGS, you can see straight down into the midway. It would be nice and open and as a plus, you'd have a great view of the water park from the bridge. Don't make it a concrete bridge. Do something unique. A wooden bridge, maybe a suspension bridge (non-bouncy) (Maybe Charleston-esque like the Ravenel bridge), or a trestle.

Would make for an interesting view FROM the water-park as well. Because of theming, I was going to suggest a covered bridge like in the old days but essentially, we already have one of those at planet snoopy next to the Flying Ace and I like the open-air concept better.

If they did something like the Ravenel bridge, the view to the East from the water park would simulate looking toward Charleston Harbor.

Not to sound rude or anything  but why in the hell would they need to add ANOTHER way to get into county fair to avoid a slight change in elevation. A mountain? Are we that lazy as Americans now days? I and I am sure many more would rather they spend money on attractions and not some lazy way for people to walk. If it was an ADA thing I could see but it doesn't seem to be. is this really a "thing"? Do people complain about that bump in the road? If so, how do they manage climbing the stairs for the coasters??? Water slides???

Carowinds is possibly the flattest park I've ever been to. I think it's a bit weird to suggest that they need to spend money on such a nonissue.

I actually like parks with lots of hills; it makes for a more scenic experience.

No. MY reason has NOTHING to do with walking the hill!!!!!!!!! It's visibility. MY reason would be to OPEN the County Fair section up to the rest of the park. Close the current entrance if you want and use the new one I'm describing if you still want 2 entrances. I would just love to see myself walking around the park, passing Cobra, passing the waterpark and, looking up and seeing straight down into the midway. When you pass Wings now, visually you'd never know County fair exists especially now that TR hill is no longer there. I'm just looking for a way to make it more visible. (I only mentioned the hill because of an earlier post. I like the hills and the trees. one of the reasons I like SFOG)

Not everyone that goes to carowinds is able to walk. Those in wheel chairs or have to push strollers hate that area of the park. When I took my mom years ago it was definitely a struggle pushing a wheel chair in that area.

Here's 2 questions for ya:

If and when County Fair gets redone will it keep the same name or "theme" ?
If and when County Fair get redone do you want NEW flats or Retro Flats?

I ask question 1 for the reason other things are changing so could it also? I ask question 2 because to me a County Fair is all about the retro flats.

I am sure many of us have visited our local County Fairs in the past. I know I visit the 2 around me every year, Salisbury and Concord and sometimes Albemarle. All you need to do is visit one and you can imagine what would need to be added to make it a true County Fair section, minus the 4H and animals,

I think the hill coming down from Afterburn could lead you directly into a midway of sorts. The hill coming from Booblasters is high enough for some great visuals if done correctly.

I can relate to that but name me one park in the world that does not have some area that is difficult for those with strollers or wheelchairs?

I like the County Fair being tucked away. The one hill is fine ,leave as is. It seems to be the most scenic place in the park.

Carowinds next new flat will be a Giant Frisbee. CF seems to be in a duplication mode when it comes to flats and slides. I would love to see a Top Spin in the park, but for whatever reason, those seem not to be very popular.

Are you really that sure?

My thoughts to the other entrance really is to provide a better flow through the area. I, personally don't like it being set way apart. But, to each his own. I understand why people might like it. I feel the same way about the Gotham area in SFOG. ... and Carowinds has always been that way. Used to be just a big circle around a lake with County Fair jutted off the back end. It was probably because of TR addition to the park back in 75 that it got built that way. I don't know. But, I regress...

Whenever something occupies the current Jurassic Park next to Afterburn, it would be a nice outer ring to the ride park. Going from Cobra, across my suggested bridge, down the midway, up to Afterburn, next to new ride where dinos are and on into Planet Snoopy. You could still have Boo Blaster hill coming down to the midway for some good visuals and entrance for those choosing not to go through Snoopy and come across the current covered bridge from the Intimidator (or whatever it will be called) area.

Speaking of lake... I'd be in favor of ridding the park of Vortex and Nighthawk, bringing the lake back, and putting in a cool coaster over the lake. Trees, maybe some walkways like at Barefoot landing to get to Windseeker area from the plaza. Oh well... thoughts for another thread....

I realize that this has been seen before, but I think it needs to be shared again...

^^ uhh uscbandfan the lake was there with vortex in place. Nighthawk is the culprit to it being mostly filled in. I do miss coming around the bend of Goldrusher to seeing water like the Raven at holiday world
