I go a few Friday's in sept and early oct and it's always dead. I did every house at least once by myself last year.

I've never been during this event, and we are planning to go. I'm really looking forward to it this year :) .

^^Maybe that was my mistake, then. When I was planning out our trip, I thought for sure Thu would be slower than Fri so I picked that. Looks like I should have picked Friday instead.

Usually the Friday evenings in Sept are dead. I tend to go a few times, try to get all the houses in and night rides on everything, and on Friday Evenings, the lines for everything tend to be non-existent. The first Friday in October, and maybe even the second aren't nearly as Busy, and Friday nights aren't as bad as Saturday even later in to SCarowinds. I like to go at least one busy night after I've already been just to be there with all of the atmosphere.

I just took a friend of mine to Carowinds for the first time 2 weeks ago, and he loved it. He wants to go back for SCarowinds, so I'm sure we'll go early on a Friday nite.

Rip Roarin' Rapids! You could do a Blood-on-the-Bayou type maze with its queue.

I also think they could do something in DA as well....and they should bring back Dead Inn. While at KD their Lockdown maze and Tollway Terror was awesome and I also got to experience KI's Wolf Pack was ok. Urgent Scare, KillMart, Delta Delta Die (sorority house), Cavern Terror and Tombstone Terror-tory were awesome all the others were fine. I encourage everybody, of course if you can and if you have the budget, to go to the other parks and experience the Haunts. After a while you do get tired of the same mazes year after year. I started venturing out using my plat pass to go to the other haunts in the chain. I'm trying to get to Dorney and back to KI tho I doubt it but KD is in the books.

I personally think Carowinds should send staff to the other parks to gather ideas for new mazes to add we should have at least 10 indoor MAZES and plenty of outdoor mazes. Tarheels idea is pretty good as while its dark back at the rapids at night, could make for a good environment for scare tactics

^ I would be happy to do that job, go to parks and note all the good and bad things and what carowinds should do to improve...

Could Friday night high school football games be the reason Scarowinds is dead on Friday nights?

Even just $10 for pass holders might reduce the lines so they don't have to cram people non-stop through the mazes. Sometimes when I have gone the past few years, it wasn't as enjoyable. Not because the mazes or the actors weren't good, it was mostly because they never got a chance to reset in the mazes so people were just strolling through.

That's my biggest issue with HHN at Universal. Their mazes are at a better level, but the standby line for each one was anywhere from 1 - 3+ hours. Even though we bought express passes, sometimes we had a 30+ minute wait (on a Thursday night). In many cases they were doing the same thing that SCarowinds usually does, which is send a non-stop stream of people through to keep the lines moving.

The ability to send people through in smaller groups would greatly enhance the experience.

[offtopic]The thing with HHN is that I have never waited more than an hour for a house. If you plan it right you can do everything including the shows all in one night. HHN crowds are different than scarowinds being that EVERYONE pays for HHN and its still brings in the crowds. I generally walk slower and ignore the waving fllashlights lol[/offtopic]

While I haven't been to scarowinds in FOREVER, I can imagine how crowded it can be since its free for a large base of the crowd. I would welcome an additional fee any day!

Carowinds charging money for scarowinds is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Smh.

Then you must not have heard of much. A lot of people are casual park visitors and some don't even care about theme parks but they will pay to go to SCarowinds before going to Carowinds. I am GLAD SCarowinds is a separate gated from the normal operating day as it thins out the crowd and it gets more revenue for the park. I wish SCarowinds can get on the same scale as Knotts Scary farms but I doubt it will.

It's not the worst idea anyone's ever had. And if some are visiting just for SCarowinds, the park can start selling SCarowinds season passes (though I think they already do).

[EDIT] Yep, they do.

I hope SCarowinds is better this year than last year, after last year I wouldn't have went a second time if I could have. This year if it is as bad as last year, it will just be a night ride trip.
