I'm confused. For which park was this FAA denial for? Cedar Point/Sandusky Airport?

It will all get sorted out. I'm sure this kind of thing happens all the time. Remember Fury was initially denied too.

Anyway, the coaster looks okay I guess. Kind of generic and uncreative. I'm sure it will be fun.

I had the same thought to Jonathan. For Cedar Point, I would've expected something more... interesting/creative? They were doing good with making the layouts more creative but this seems like the first two thirds of Griffon/Sheikra and a new rollover at the end.

Well, we will be able to experience a dive loop vs an immelman and the fore mention roll. Isn't that unique? I don't think you can get too crazy with the dive coasters. Come to think of it, not too many coasters there are really unique or remain that way.

Yeah . . . after thinking, its cool to have another dive machine but CP probably could have done more layout wise. Yeah, its two new elements but I had to realize this is cedar point. It could have been more especially if they are rattling off all these " worlds first".

Yeah, they're doing the same thing that the MF promo did. They advertise world records that make you say,"Is that really a world record?"   :D

I watched the announcement this morning and thought it was kind of dull.... The ride does look typical of a dive coaster, just a little bit taller.... Why do all 3 dive coasters drop, inversion, and then go into a brake run? I would love to see a dive coaster do something else before hitting a MCBR, just seems odd.... While I liked Griffon and Sheikra, the ride looks fine, but like others said, plain. There isnt any real themeing or anything either.... I think CP just likes to set records and this was a compact, easy, and to most a thrilling ride. I do like the restraints on it, maybe the other 2 dive coasters will get those one day. While I wont make a trip just to ride this ride, I do hope to get back to CP next year since i havent been since Gatekeepter opened.... I do wish this would have dived into a tunnel or something a little unique, Glad that the ride was finally announced and I am sure it will be very popular and make an already crowded park even worse.

gabed wrote:The vest restraints were fantastic on Banshee, I'm kinda excited to see how they work out on a dive coaster.

Are the vests on Banshee airtime-killers (I know there's not really an airtime hill but what about the first drop?)? I hate to be negative about this because even with the vests, this coaster could still make it into my personal top five at Cedar Point, but Gatekeeper was just so tight and suffocating. These restraints would be welcomed on Rougarou though.

The thing about Banshee is that it's mainly about forces instead of airtime, and it more than delivers! The one moment where you get airtime, or I suppose floating would be a better word, was the final barrel roll and I personally felt that the vests did not get in the way of this sensation. It was actually a lot more comfortable and enjoyable than had it been standard OTSRs.

I don't agree that vest restraints kill airtime, but I don't agree that they are comfortable either. On Gatekeeper, Banshee, and Wild Eagle I came back to the station with a crushed stomach. The restraints would "lock" down further when there were strong forces, and the main lap bar attached to the vest made it hard to breath. I prefer the OTSR's much more as long as there aren't any sudden jerks that make you hit your head on them. But maybe that's just me.

I know it's not Cedar Fair...
And it's not as large as Valravn...
