The thing with Baron 1898 is that it's quite themed well like any other UK park, which adds to the experience. Valravn is just plopped onto a grassy area. I agree a dive into a dark tunnel maybe with fog and strobe to create the lightning would be nice to go along with the invites and teases, which to my is the fullest marketing tool, everything is cohesive. You know like Fury325 and the honeycombs or some may call them hexagons?

I don't think anyone was expecting theme park level theming or anything like Baron 1898, but at least some sort of interaction with the pedestrian walkways, tunnels, I don't know... ANYTHING. This is the 10th B&M dive coaster and aside from potentially the one at Happy Valley (can't find any recent photos of it) this will be the only one that has none of that. To me it's a waste of the dive coaster concept. It's kind of like how Manta is an absolute must-ride yet the Superman clones are somewhat forgettable because Manta actually takes advantage of the position the riders are in. Even Oblivion, which is not very tall and goes right back to the station after the drop, was a ton of fun for me because the dive into the tunnel completely made the ride. Given the way Cedar Fair used the gates and walkways with Gatekeeper and Fury I was kind of expecting something interesting with this one. At the very least throw in a water splash..

I know you've been on Griffon and Sheikra, so what is it about this ride that YOU find so exciting?

What do I find exciting . . . nothing. A vertical loop would have been cool . . .

I haven't seen may top the interaction and setting as the two busch dive coasters. Baron looks cool but aside from the station and lift, there really isn't much there. I feel they would have been better off with a flyer, more so with a launch.

Well, there goes Planet Snoopy. A dive machine would be great but I feel too many of Carowinds' visitors have seen or experienced Griffon. That, and if I wanted a dive coaster, I'd tape a holding brake to Fury.

I feel like Cedar Point will be the only Cedar Fair park to have a dive coaster for awhile. It seems like Ouimet is wanting to give Cedar Point coasters that are unique to it, like Gatekeeper. I'm gonna guess that our next coaster will be a woodie of some sort. I'd like to see a launched RMC, but a strata is probably more likely than that.

As for Valleyfair, I'm guessing a flat. Maybe another Mondial Frisbee?

Since you're so buddy-buddy with Carowinds, what is that FAA height limit? I know Fury was supposedly originally declined until they showed the FAA that the Skytower is already there, but is there anywhere this is stated as fact?

Valleyfair Celebrates 40 Years of Fun in 2016 With New Attractions For Thrill-seekers Of All Ages!

Next year, Valleyfair will mark its 40th anniversary with a season-long celebration that includes the return of an original park favorite and the renovation of a popular entertainment venue to feature an all-new extreme sports show. Throwback-inspired events and parties will also be part of the line-up as the park celebrates their legacy and heritage in the Twin Cities market.

Time To Earn Your Wings! A Valleyfair original makes its return in 2016! Guests will have a chance to earn their wings as the park reintroduces the Flying Eagles. Part of the park's original ride package in 1976, the Flying Eagles will once again become a family favorite for parents and children alike.

The planes will glide 28 feet above the ground and allow each rider to uniquely control their flight experience. The Flying Eagles will be nested between Route 76 and Enterprise.

New Venue Makes Way For New Entertainment - Valleyfair's outdoor amphitheater has played host to a number of well-known artists over the past forty years. Starting this fall, the space will undergo a complete renovation for future events including an all-new extreme sports show in 2016.

All Wheels Extreme, a finalist on NBC's hit show "America's Got Talent" brings its high-flying extreme sports show to Valleyfair. The show will feature some of the top professional inline skaters, skateboarders and BMX bicycle performers in the world. Dancers, trampoline artists and aerialists add a theatrical element to create a one of a kind production that will excite audiences of all ages.
