From what I saw tonight, Scarowinds is a vast improvement over last year (except for the clown maze which remained a let down). We will see how it goes when crowds get busier, but I had a nice time tonight. Did all but two of the mazes and saw Skeleton Crew. I plan on going back for more. :D

Nope, no foggy bridge. They weren't afraid of fog everywhere else though. some places around Boardwalk were so foggy you couldn't see. I would love to see them use some fog chillers to let the fog lay down lower before it starts to dissipate. That could be really effective in places such as the graveyards and where people aren't walking. Imagine fog rolling across the water under Nighthawk.

I went with the family for the first time last night. We really enjoyed it, but your right the fog was a little dense at times.I thought that the Slaughter House was Awesome. We are getting ready to go again tonight, hope it won't be to busy. Last night was nice, no really long lines.

I visited every maze and scare zone last night. My favorite was, of course, the Slaughterhouse. They had a lot of neat animated props, including... [spoil]Pig carcasses on a moving conveyor belt, thrashing bodies of both humans and pigs, a hallway with rotating meat grinders on the ceiling, and a live actor being cut by a saw blade.[/spoil] Silver Scream definitely improved, too. The movie theming is more obvious and they added in some cool scenes, like... [spoil]A spiderweb-infested hallway with spiders being projected onto egg sacks, an alien room, and a "3... 2... 1..." countdown at the beginning.[/spoil] Definitely give Scarowinds a visit this year. I had a blast.

Going out to the park tonight. I'm pretty excited to see the new slaughterhouse and get my first Fury night ride! That's been long overdue.

Pro tip for Scarowinds entrance. Avoid the traffic on I-77 and come in the back way from South Tryon and Carowinds Blvd. The left lane entering the park is always backed up as well, so stay in the right lane, turn right at the light past Cracker Barrel, take a u-turn in that business park and zip right on in.

Shh, don't spread that around.

Was at the park today and dawned on me the the sleeping troll us also at cedar point. They've had for at least 4yrs now...it grabs many of the visitors attention especially when he wakes up and stands up making us look like ants threatening to eat us.

Went to SCarowinds tonight. I rode Afterburn 1x, Fury 1x, and Boo Blasters. We only did three mazes: Last Laff, Cornstalkers, and Slaughterhouse. Last Laff was okay. Cornstalkers was TERRIBLE, somehow it felt understaffed. Slaughterhouse was impressive. Not incredibly scary but the special effects and props were great. I had a decent time minus the ghetto teenagers who kept bumping into us at slaughterhouse.

In other news, Barracuda Blasters (formally known as Awesome Aussie Twisters) has been repainted! There was a lot of work going on by Carolina Harbor. It was kind of depressing to look at it and remember what used to be there.

Numerous fights and brawls tonight at Scarowinds. Crazy and scary (for real) at times. Law enforcement really had their hands full tonight. Really sad in a way.

Every time there was a fight, hundreds of kids would stampede to the fight. Supervisors were pulling performers out of the fright zones for their safety.

There were fights tonight? Where were they? I was there all night, and missed the fights?

Slaughterhouse, was a very fun maze, it really reminded me of the old slaughterhouse. Silver Scream Studios, was pretty cool, as well. Last Laff, will be serving its last year I hope, it needs a revamp, it's very kid friendly. I did love The Skelton Crew it was a great show over all. Eternal Jamnation, was the same thing as last year, except they got a new singer, who was really good! Now on to the scare zones, London terror is probably the best in my opinion, undead steampunk hookers are great! The Bloodyard, has a really great scare factor, a really enjoyable place to walk around in. Scary Tales, is a fun and comedical feel to it, even though most of them looked really fake, they still managed to scare. Mass Acres, only had one guy scaring people, and he did a great job of it! The main highlight of my night, was riding fury in the dark, for my first time. It was insane, can't wait to go again. Btw, don't let a long line scare you, it moves really fast, and it's worth the wait! My overall experience was a solid 5/5. I love that Scarowinds is coming back to its old self again!

They started in front of Harmony Hall around 11:30pm, then moved to the front entrance, and then several of them were in the reserved parking area.

The ones in Harmony Hall caused them to remove the performers from the London fright zone.

In the parking lot there were a couple law enforcement officers on horse back trying to get the crowds to disperse. At one point one of the horses started bucking, and we thought the officer was going to fall off.

Yeah I've seen a lot of the hooligans at the park before. Wish I could bring my conceal carry pistol & permit inside Scarowinds in case someone tries to hurt me or mine. I don't trust security to get there fast enough to stop a group of thugs and their "screening" process is a joke. They only use the metal detector wands on your torso, meaning a knife or gun could be concealed in the shoes or ankles. Not to mention nylon knifes or glass knifes like coldsteel makes. They wont show up on a wand screening at all. . .

I'm a law abiding citizen so I refuse to carry inside the park illegaly. they've even specifically put up a big "No weapons" sign as you come in with a gun pictograph. This tells me Carowinds does not respect peoples right to self defense and angers me.

Long story short we will NOT be going to Scarowinds ever. It is a major hot spot for fighting/violence as mentioned here and this event I feel is a melting pot of all the bad elements. .

If you were allowed to have your gun, so would everyone else that started fighting. Yeah, great idea...

PS why are you still complaining about a park you aren't going to?
