1. I would build a full resort style hotel complex.
2. Parking decks for easier and better parking
3. Trams to take people to and from the parking areas.
4. The park would be split as equally as possible between NC and SC
5. Large lake in the center with a kids island accessible via boats. Kids area would still be snoopy themed. There would be plenty of things to do for kids of all ages and parents alike. All capped off with 3 kids style coaster, a train that goes around the whole island, and a chair lift that can take people to and from the area as well.
6. There would be a dueling wooden coaster that hugs the border, as well as a competing large and record breaking coaster in each state.
7. Lots of flat rides and an area bordering the states that is carnival or state fair themed, with the types of foods and rides one would expect at a fair or carnival.
8. A large ferris wheel of at least 200 ft.
9. There would be an area that would have a beach style mini golf course, go karts, bumper cars/boats and similar rides.
10.The water park would be at the back of the park and feature 2 entrances, and would have an assortment of water slides from mild to wild with something record breaking of course, a massive 2 part wave pool, a water coaster, as well as a lazy river that would go around the entire water park. There would be a giant themed kids and family area with it's own slides, play areas, splash pads, and a smaller wave pool.
11. There would also be an area of the main park, near the water park that features all sorts of water rides, Log flume, rapids, whitewater plunge that would be a themed ride with a large drop,, as well as a Manta style water coaster that goes through an underwater tunnel after first drop.
12. Finally there would be a windseeker, power tower style ride that shoots riders up and or drops them down.

I'm sure I left out tons of stuff, but to me this would make a pretty darn good set up for Carowinds!!

^ as for my post above, if I knew how to make a pretty picture using a google maps overlay I sure would. I think it makes sense in my head, but not sure if that translates well into my post above haha.

My idea for the lake:
I think everyone agrees that Nighthawk's placement was poor as it took up a huge chunk of the lake. Windseeker and Ripcord have also helped in cluttering up the lake but their placements made more sense. My idea is to Remove Nighthawk (ship it off to Dorney or Valleyfair) and to push the walkway down closer to Windseeker and Ripcord. In Nighthawk's place, I would add an orange Mack Spinner that spends most of its time on the lake with Maverick-like water jets. The entrance would be closer to Windseeker. On the other side of the lake, I would consider adding a Mondial frisbee by Vortex's last turn, but I don't know how redundant it would be if the lake had two rides swinging over it. I wouldn't want to clutter it up again. I'd sprinkle in some trees here and there along the walkway.

I like your idea, but I highly doubt that Carowinds will be removing Nighthawk anytime soon. Nighthawk is a fan favorite to those who don't feel the bumpiness and the potential of what could have gone in its spot. My "realistic" hopes would be expanding the pond to under Vortex and Goldrush, re-theme Vortex to something related to water (with a floorless conversion), and if at all possible, make more rivers/creeks under park pathways near that area. And, of course, plant lots of trees.

The only reason I have ridden it this season is because of the MC3 fast pass we got....otherwise it is a total skip for me...even on days when the park is virtually dead.

I HATE the restraints on B&M flyers because I'm about 6'5" and my shins instead of ankles rest on the ankle flap things and they are super uncomfortable. The Vekoma flyer restraints are super comfortable in the prone position for me and I like them much better.

I really don't like the Vekoma seating position because you have to stay leaning back in that uncomfortable position for about an hour before they finally send the next train out. On B&M's it is much quicker, and you aren't looking up into the hot sun the whole time.
Also, I've ridden Firehawk, and honestly I liked Nighthawk better because it is over a pond. For me, I think a flying coaster should have something too fly over instead of just a patch of grass, although I did enjoy Firehawk's capacity improvements and how smooth it was compared to Nighthawk.

I like nighthawk it's just the capacity that kill sit for me and I always have to be in line 1, that's the smoothest car for me all the others are spine crushers lol. I like Tarheels idea however I do prefer Huss frisbees over Mondial the just look like a protoype and ugle to me for some reason but it wont stop me from riding lol. I also agree that they should put water back around Goldrusher as it once had water around it and maybe expand it to Vortex. I'm a huge advocate for digging rivers and creeks around the park, whether using a pump to pump it through the park to mimic moving water or just basic still ponds around the park with the giant gold fishes in it. Just not algae filled like the current pond and take that green color out too.

Let's be careful wishing for non-moving water. That could promote mosquitos. I suspect Carowinds does something with the current pond to keep the mosquitos away.

Agree... but also agree with enlarging the lake and adding water features throughout the park... green space too. I'm sure something can be done to prevent a mosquito factory.

Well let's start with the hornets nest atop Fury's lift hill before the drop a girl next to me went ballistic when we crested the top last Sunday cuz they were flying everywhere at least 15 of them and I had to calm her down from flapping her hands everywhere. She damn near slapped me. She said she's allergic so I then understood her fear of being stung but I am too I just said just be calm then they won't attack lol

Yeah, I noticed a swarm of them flying around the wind-ometer thing at the top last weekend. I figured that if they really do walk the track every morning then they would notice that pretty quickly. Carowinds sure does like their interactive themeing!
