Last year, my sister tried to go to Scarowinds and sat on 77 in traffic for the park (not regular 77 traffic), to the point where I think they gave up and went home. My daughter is going next Friday with some friends (YES, the Dad is staying with them). They are planning to leave here at about 6:00...about 40 minutes North on 77. Having only done a day at Carowinds, and then staying for Scarowinds, I have no idea if that kind of traffic is normal for getting into Scarowinds. Are they asking for trouble on traffic?

If they could get there earlier I would encourage that. I always try to be at least an hour early for haunt events at parks for one, the traffic and two, to be one of the first ones in line. I usually go to the back houses then work my way to the front against the crowds. Most people enter the first things they see so by the time the night dies down, the back is busy and not the front.

Has anyone done SCarowinds in the rain? How is it?

Yes I have but it was a light rain. It took away from the effect some but also added to the atomosfear.

Well, looks like I might miss out tonight because of the rain. Forgive me if it's been answered here already, but I've never been to Scarowinds on a Sunday and I'm wondering how the Sunday crowd compares to Fridays and Saturdays. Does anyone have experience with that?

^ Sorry I didn't specify, but I meant just the Sundays that Scarowinds is open, of course.
