I'm sorry if I come off as a heartless monster, but really? I feel terrible for what happened to her, but if the experience was so traumatizing, why not just avoid the park instead of taking the experience away from everyone else? It's not like someone is forcing her to ride it again. I do feel sorry for her but I don't think she should be that offended by the news.

Hmm, and I thought the Brits were less easily offended than Americans. Sorry for your pain sweetie but business is business; through I doubt Smiler being closed would really cause a substantial drop in attendance. My theory is the media is working so hard against the park that the media is affecting the park.

Is it bad that she lost her leg, yes. But wishing to go and "chop the ride down" makes no sense whatsoever.

First, I hope they'll eventually realize that it wasn't the ride that did this to her, but a human. If anything, the ride tried to save her but to no avail. Plus, as rollerbee said, business is business. Alton Towers isn't going to scrap their multi-million dollar (or however many pounds that is) investment all because of an accident that wasn't even caused by the ride.

Ugh, this is just an all around terrible situation.

This is the first thing I thought of. She is mad at the ride when she needs to be mad at the maintenance operator.
