Ok you made your point. It is possible to buy the bring a friend online. Back to your hole troll.

Still doesn't change the fact that bring a friend is same price at the gate. There is no special online price like they were trying to have me believe. They for some reason just didn't want to fess up to the fact the price was changed last minute.

As far as what Carowinds should do, I think anyone who payed the $29.99 should get a refund or some kind of in-part voucher of some kind. They should have honored the original price instead of essentially blackmailed people who showed up with the new price, saying that they couldn't get in if they didn't pay "extra". But all of that is irrelevant to the point I was trying to make. You can reserve your purchase of a bring-a-friend discount online (essentially buying it).

And, Jarvis, I wasn't trolling; you can't blame me for jumping on the opportunity to prove you were even slightly wrong about anything lol.... That's a pretty rare event, almost as common as the blood moon that Charlotte's weather royally screwed me out of actually seeing. :lolno: But I'll take that complaint elsewhere.

So...I'm usually not a chicken at Scarowinds, but I went with a friend last Friday and he was too scared to go in any of the houses. Might I add he's not scared of anything! So the only thing we ended up going in was Last Laff. So can someone just give me on a scale of 1-10 how intense/actually scary Slaughterhouse, Silver Scream, and Defex are this year? Thanks! Hopefully I won't chicken Sunday night, it's so unlike me!

^ It's tough for me to rank scare factors because what scares me might not scare you.

There's a scaractor in Slaughterhouse that scared me because what I thought was a clever costume trick was actually real. I won't say more now because I don't want to spoil it for others.

The rest of the mazes were only slightly scarier than Last Laff. I really don't see what would make them too scary to go through. At times in all mazes I have to work to get scared.

The one big (and obvious) problem people have with haunt events is that they don't want to be scared. You have to understand the environment you're going into when you visit SCarowinds. I feel that Last Laff is a fairly mild maze and good for beginners. It's always good to hit it up first to loosen up. Accept that you're going to be startled by the actors and props and noises, it makes the rest of the night a lot more fun.

I don't think any of the mazes/houses were scary. When I firdt started SCarowinds in its first years I was quite the screamer as I had never experienced anything like that. However (broken record) I visit quite a few parks now for their halloween event so I may be condition. Its kinda hard to get scared by someone just standing there then try to startle you by banging on something. The sets alone were phenomal and they all seemed top notch to me but yeah, not scary, a little startling but not anxiety inducing scary.

It's tough to describe, but scared isn't really the right word, even though I used it above. Startled, like Jarvis said. Or surprised. And if you get used to haunted attractions nothing in them will scare/startle/surprise you.

^ Thanks for sharing. I got an e-mail announcement with the same thing. You might save someone that was looking for a no-crowd visit a trip to the park.

I'm 65 miles west/northwest of the park and we had some light rain this morning but right now no precipitation.

With the heavy rain and flooding forecasted, everybody just be careful this weekend!

^ I only saw and heard one, in Cornstalkers, and it was a battery powered speaker setup, very fake.
