I'm curious to know why I made the signature? Am I famous or something???
Also, I'm sure that there are records somewhere saying if and when the road was named "Carowinds Boulevard" or if it has always been that. If I'm not mistaken, that road wasn't completed until after the park was built (maybe a year or so after), so I'm just gonna go ahead and think that it has always been that name. That road didn't exist in 1968 (according to this picture on Carowinds Early Years http://www.carowindsearlyyears.com/aerial68-78.html

In my opinion its very hypocritical of CF after they said they were bringing back the Carolina Theming. This just seems like a very Six Flags-ish move. The one thing I hated about SFOG was the sponsored rides, and rides that are named for other brands. Had CF made it a Carolina themed ride I think I'd be a lot more excited.

Sorry for the rant, but a random question I had- Was the street outside of Carowinds always named "Carowinds Blvd." or was that implemented under CF?

so exactly what game or 4d simulation that would be interesting that would be theme to the carolinas? The Blue Ridge Parkway Experience? Maybe Virtual panning for gold at Reeds Gold Mine? everything doesnt need to be carolina themed.

Well I for one never got tired of the "pickle-culiar" SpongeBob ride. I peobably had the whole thing memorized at some point. I still say "Right you are neighbor, moving on up" regularly. RIP SpongeBob ride

You must've missed out on Days Of Thunder then.

Yea that was awesome!! I liked 007 too. I do wonder since they are playing at least 10x within the hour will be different shows or in this case different boards.

Honestly, even though they are keeping the Carolina theme too it, too much Carolina themed attractions is boring. I'm glad they are adding themes and branded attractions to a "theme" park. It gets annoying when they slap the name Carolina in front of every ride or attraction. Carolina cyclone,Carolina cobra,Carolina harbor, Carolina gold rusher ,ect... It's good to have variety and themed rides are best... I mean ask Disney or universal.

I don't think slapping "Carolina" on every attraction counts as theming. The Carolinas have a very rich and interesting history (minus all the racism). The gold rush, pirates, first in flight, the lost Roanoke colony, etc. Now that I think about it, a "soarin' " type ride taking place over the Carolinas would've been fun too, but way less marketable than the PvZ theme. I just hope that from here on out, the "major" attractions are all Carolina themed.

My main question is how long will this last? I expect that in about 5 - 10 years, nobody will even know what Plants Vs. Zombies is. Could this "arena" be changed to a different theme after a while so people don't get bored with the same thing? :eh:

I am intrigued by this announcement. I don't see it Six Flagsish or it would have been 'The Carolina Experience sponsored by Snickers' or something random that makes no sense.

I am reserved about the motion seats, however. Most motion simulators that I have been in have been 'over programmed' by the developers so that they end up taking away from the experience instead of adding to it. I hope they use restraint when programming them.

Otherwise, this is going to be a fun, unique, experience.

Action Theater themes were not designed for the long haul. As great as Sponge Bob was, after two years of it, it had gotten fairly long in the tooth.

Try telling that to loyal SpongeBob fans, I know a 27 year old SB fan that had a fit when her "The Missing Pickle" ride went "missing"....

I for one am quite glad SpongeBob is vacated AFX.
As far as the Dino movie goes, it was better off an empty theater. Once people seen it once, they didn't go back except to get out of the heat hence why AFX was closed all year this season.

Honestly, the best use for that building other than a pile of rumble is a 50s "Drive-in" dining area. They could do live performances, show movies, give weather updates, FunTV just like in Harmony Hall.

I think it would be nice if they renovated Juke Box Diner to be along those lines. I think there's a random fence in front of Hurler that they could build a stage over. The area could be like our own little Jukebox Junction.

But before we turn this into a wishlist topic, I wonder if this is as easily programmable as the amusement darks where they can do a new overlay once guests get bored of the PvZ theme. What I'd love to see is the building converted into one of those mega funhouses you see in Europe. While I don't think everything in the park has to be Carolina themed, I'd really love to see them go all out on the county fair theme.

[EDIT] Looks like I turned it into a wishlist thread.

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure that is the left side of the Action Theater.

^ Yea it's the left side of the que taken from the over flow section that has obviously never been used as much since we're so used to walking in and making that first right up into the stairs vs walking all the way around to the side and back up.
