My wife and I did all the mazes in less than three hours last night. I was hoping for more of a retheme of Silver Screen than it got, pretty much the first and last rooms changed and they added "Studio 3A" signs. Defex got atleast one minor change, the man in the que line no longer is carrying a unicorn toy around. We did Last Laff once during Boofest and once during SCarowinds, it was nice to see Carowinds use one of the SCarowinds mazes for Boofest. For next year maybe they can add another maze that they can do this with, maybe one with alittle scares to prepare the kids for SCarowinds as they grow up. Zombie High School was disappointment especially since it was so good it's first year. Slaughterhouse puts Fury/Viral to shame but for some reason the layout seemed familiar. I would say the real star is 7th Ward, it seemed nothing like the Asylum was. We skipped Cornstalkers by choice this year, cornfields don't sit well with us.
I would like to see Bloodyard expanded into a full maze next year maybe using some of the open space between the (formerly) pink slides and the new water play structure(where the old wavepool was).
I also seen they are prepping for the Skytower Christmas tree and there was a pile driver and other equipment park between Vortex and Nighthawk.
And yes I stopped by Thunder Road's Memorial. I probably hung around Thunder Road for a good ten minutes staring at the empty space and crying. All that is left is part of the posts that supported the sign and four pieces of wood that went around two of the four posts. They are still selling pieces of Thunder Road and Nanocoasters. #NeverForgetThunderRoad.
I am back from Carowinds Connection Time-Out!
