I got to thinking...

If Cedar Fair wanted to replace Vortex with something new, instead of replacing the trains and making it floorless, why not just remove it all together? They could ship it off to Michigan's Adventure (Lord knows they need something) and that opens up a decent sized plot of land for a brand new, larger coaster to fill it's place. Heck, they could even replace it with a new floorless coaster.

Hmm, interesting thought there Jarsh. As long as Goldrusher doesn't go with it. Vortex is tiny so I would have to have a compact layout but as long as it is better designed than Vortex's that would be good.

Thing is, converting Vortex would be cheaper. Sure, it doesn't have the size or layout of Rougarou (which, IMO, wasn't all that great but I never rode it as Mantis so maybe my view is more unbiased), but it could be a fun little coaster and it might improve Carowinds' lineup just a little bit. The floorless experience is unique to the area and some charlotte transplants probably don't even know about Vortex. And I'm sure those who do know probably don't enjoy it in its current state. I see no downside to converting it.

Didn't Ouimet already say that he doesn't like relocating coasters?

I personally haven't read that, but I hope so.

As far as Vortex goes, especially with it having a shorter train, I'd Imagine that it would be a better financial decision to keep it, turn it into a floorless, and market it as a new experience. Honestly, MiA being one of the most profitable parks in the chain really doesn't need much of anything as long as people keep coming. And converting Vortex to a floorless will go along way to 'fixing' the couple of sore spots on Carowinds' coaster lineup. I just hope they don't repaint it red and grey.

We could also see Nighthawk go too :shifty:
Then make the lake much larger and bring in another type of coaster. It doesn't have to be B&M. But if the park could afford it, a decent sized launched Mack coaster. Either that, or if B&M were to ever create a "hairpin style" or a "wild mouse style" or even a "Eurofighter" style coaster.
The options are endless!
Provided that they have the appropriate funding. Hey, if one of us wins the multi-million lottery, we should donate some to the park

This happened yesterday. If you live around Gastonia you know its people like this that give the area a bad rap  . Shes gotta be higher than a kite.

The most pathetic thing was people yelling to shoot her. :( That really shows the mentality of some people when actions other than deadly force were appropriate.

I am one of the most pro-gun people you will ever meet but use of a firearm in that situation was unnecessary and dangerous. At an intersection with cars and people all around the officer should not have discharged his weapon because if he missed he was extremely likely to hit a by-stander. When witnessing an event like this the police do not need people yelling at them what to do, its like that dad who coaches his son from the bleachers and gives him the wrong advice.

I didn't hear a gun shot in the video. Did I miss that part or are you just talking stuff again?

Since the camera was pointing at the ground half the time, I couldn't see how she flipped over the hydrant. I guess the police tried to box her in and she tried to escape?

What I thought was strange was the number of people on the sidewalk during the whole thing. Wouldn't you want to move away from the crazy woman doing donuts in the intersection?
