General Carowinds discussion

Since this plot of land is too small for a resort, I think another great use for it would be a California Marketplace-type attraction. It would have a "main" street of shops and upscale restaurants leading up to a restaurant that is a replica of the Plantation House. It would also be useful to people wanting to visit SCarowinds without leaving the parking lot. This would give the park another year-round attraction in addition to the resort keeping Carowinds alive during the winter without opening the park (though that would also be a great idea).

I would like to see that in Nighthawk's and Vortex's place over the lake. But that is also a good location for a Mack Launch. But, like Mike said, we need money for that

Not only a dive coaster but a dive coaster worth having.

Actually can we just get rid of Nighthawk and Vortex and bring Canada's Wonderland mountain down to fill in? Of course it would have to be painted in line with the Blue Ridge Parkway.

^^ I suppose it is true that the park definitely has enough B+Ms. I'm personally not really enticed by dive coasters though.

On second thought, I think a GCI would fill the wooden coaster void and be just plain all around awesome.

Have you ever been on one? Also, have you ridden a wing rider?

I edited my idea for re-imagining the lake/river: White Lightnin' impulse coaster, Giant Frisbee, Jalopies, Riverboat Restaurant, Captain Buddy animatronic. The island could be used for fireworks.

And honestly, if you guys want a dive coaster so bad, either drive to Willamsburg or tape a holding brake to Fury.

I haven't had the great pleasure/displeasure of riding them, no. I've only seen the videos and heard what people have to say.

Ok . . . Just wondering. Dive coasters are great fun. The vertical drops never get old. I haven't traveled abroad to try out the smaller ones to give an opinion on them but they seem as fun. I know people were expecting much more from a dive coaster at this point than what cedar point got and I agree. The wing riders are kinda meh depending on who you ask. I pretty much enjoyed wild eagle but went to sleep on gatekeeper. I really would like to know mantaince take on wooden coasters returning to the park. They seem to be engineered better.

Agreed. 100%

Wild Eagle is amazing but Gatekeeper is just migraine fuel.

Well with the wings I can day that Wild Eagle was great to be the first....Gatekeeper was def meh to me...Thunderbird was EVERYTHING!!! The forest and the near miss fly through the barn added to the experience as well as the launch of course.

I rode GateKeeper and Wild Eagle, and I wasn't very impressed with either of them, but out of the 2 I liked GateKeeper better.
