It has become increasingly and painfully evident with each post I make that I need to get a life.
Here is my next re-imagining of the lake area: My next idea, instead of replacing Nighthawk with a Mack spinner, would be to place an Impulse coaster on the other side of the lake next to Ripcord. In Nighthawk's place, I would put in a new "Hillbilly Jalopies" ride and a Giant Frisbee next to the end of Vortex. The impulse would be a tribute to White Lightnin' with part of the ride over water and even a floral clock in front of it. The entrance would be next to or in place of Panda Express. In the middle of the lake, there would be a small island to launch fireworks from. The side of the walkway opposite to White Lightnin' 2 ("2" wouldn't be in the name, that'd be horrible) would be lined with shops and possibly a stage for a Luminosity-type show. This would all be part of my "Piedmont Plains" area combining the themes of the old, rural Carolinas with the new, modern Carolinas.
[EDIT] Another thing I thought of, instead of building a Luminosity stage, would be to bring back the Sternwheeler and use that as the stage. You could put fountains in front of the sternwheeler and launch fireworks off of the island behind it. The boat might have to be larger but it would take up less walking space and it would be more unique than other nighttime shows at Cedar Fair parks.
