General Carowinds discussion

I hyper will never happen. Carowinds doesn't have enough room for the lift hill, station and brake run, and a launch coaster is out of the question. Carowinds hasn't had a launch coaster since October 16th(or 10th), 1988.

I totally disagree.

They could put a hyper in that park easily. One of the places that stands out in my mind is along the parking lot/AS with a turn around near Top Gun. Even over in Thrill Zone, a hyper could fit nicely, a compact one at that.

A hyper doesn't have to have a lot of space and can be worked into just about any space. In fact, one of the Jr. Hypers like those over in Europe could fit into the park.

As far as a launch coaster, they could put one in easily. A Linear Gale could fit in there. I could even see a Mad Cobra too over in Thrill Zone launching outward behind the Rapids, etc.

I don't know what you've been eating but save me some...

I am shocked that noone has even posted this.

Turn on typical fanboy mode.

But I Hope it goes under da bridge. That would be so off the hook that it would be rad a rad can get. Word up to your brother, brother.

Turn off typical fanboy mode.

Well there you have it folks, the Nut has spoken and if the Nut says it it must be true, So jon you can go ahead a close this thread because everything after what the Nut has busted us with would be rubbish and now its time for us to accept the truth......

Carowinds has room for several hypers if they wanted them. You've obviously never heard of The Big One at Blackpool Pleasure Beach. This is a classic example of a park with no open space that managed to build what was once the world's tallest coaster. It CAN be done and Carowinds wouldn't have nearly the challenge that Blackpool had.

They just barely managed to squeeze this coaster in but it has a really spread out layout.

I'll chime in too. There's plenty of room for a hyper.

It's not like a woody where it takes up vertical space.

The station is no longer than any other station, that's the biggest ground hog of any coaster.

They could easily put a hyper station behind the sky coaster thing there's plenty of room between there and the bus parking lot.

Steel coasters especially that tall can be built over top of footpaths and other rides.

They could fit it about anywhere in the park.

As an example, if they built the station behind Hurler to the right of it, then the lift could go up to the right of Hurler along the warehouse side. Then have the first drop somewhere between Cyclone and the water park.

Plenty for a mellium force coaster. It can go NC to SC.

I don't know whether to believe this or not but it was said at one point in the past that we were due for a Morgan hyper but the plans were scrapped for some reason. I know its just one of the many false rumors but I kinda actually believed that one. I would love to see a hyper at Carowinds but I think another park would get one before we would. I say that PGA is the next to get a major coaster being that they just recently lost two, we just recieved the Borg, PCW and PKI are getting Italian Job, also PKI and PKD always seem to get the bulk of things anyway.
