General Carowinds discussion

If I remember correctly, Steve said something on the lines of this: The bottom half of the tubes are not translucent and are painted. The tops that go on them are translucent, but to a certain degree. This will allow for some sunlight to enter the tube, but not so much that it's blinding, and not too little that it's dark inside.

In the picture below, the slides on the left are translucent, and the ones in the background are not.

Didn't you go to kings dominion last year? Their slides are exactly the same set up, with the trans at the top then solid at the bottom.

RollerBee wrote:What is a gel coat?

Gel coat is a polyester coating. I am employed by the largest american manufacturer of gel coat. The reason it is used for water slides is for it's ability to be highly flexible. Also, it is engineered to bond well to fiberglass.

I haven't said anything and I don't plan to either. . .
What if I'm meeting up with Family? Ever thought of that? That's why we won't have time to visit Busch. Believe me we'd love to.
I actually feel insulted now.
But it's okay...
