sounds like you need to head to universal studios . . .

I didn't mean that in a couple of years people will be bored of Fury! I meant that after like 10 years, people will not necessarily feel like they have to make a trip to Carowinds just for Fury and Intimidator, especially if they've been to the park before. I'm sure people will still think it's cool, but it won't be AS big of a deal as it is now.

I don't think that the right way to draw in crowds is by surpassing Fury's height/speed/whatever, but if they were to do that, it would definitely get attention, so I wouldn't view it as a negative. I think realistically it won't happen soon but I have no idea how to predict what will happen in 10, 15, or 20 years. I haven't even been alive for 20 years...

Maybe I worded it poorly, but this is what I intended to say in my original post. That I don't want a Strata, but I wouldn't have negative feelings towards one if we were to get one.

If they were "Days Of Thunder" then I'd be all for it. Those things really worked well for that type of simulation.

I also would like one good simulator (preferably about Blackbeard), but too many can get boring. Don't get me wrong, the rides at Universal are all awesome, but after you've ridden The Simpson's, Transformers, and Spiderman, you start to realize that they all have very similar events in them (despite having different stories).

EDIT: Before this becomes another wishlist thread...
I also think that a strata coaster would help the park. I wouldn't be too impressed with it unless it was a long ride, but it couldn't hurt the park.

There is the nail being hit on the head. Even from long ago, I've always had a problem with Great American Scream Machine at SFoG for that same reason. A world class (at the time) lift hill only to have the drop wasted and a slow turn on top of the next hill. Look at Hypersonic XLC, Top Thrill Dragster, Kingda Ka, insert short, high coaster here... They're impossibly short. You wait hours in line for a ride that lasts less than 30 seconds. (Granted a 120mph launch is thrilling and quite impressive.) Personally, I want more bang for the buck. I LOVE the length of Fury 325 because it uses it's height to it's advantage powering you through more than a mile of track at breakneck speed. Is why I always preferred TR over GASM even though it was a tad shorter because it used it's speed to it's advantage.

Go ahead and build a strata (if the FAA not to mention the bank account will let you). But give it some character more than an out and back and let it swing through the entire park or parking lot, through tunnels and high banked turns close to the ground and trees. Even though they were all different with different speeds and heights, Hypersonic XLC, Top Thrill Dragster, Kingda Ka,are all the same to me. Once you've seen or done one,.... Lets have character. Is what I love most about Fury.

Alright..... a super long strata coaster...... you got $45 million?

There's a reason Dragster and Kingda Ka are short.

Agreed. And it is why I mentioned the bank account in my post. I'd rather have a Thunderhead-type wooden coaster. Granted, the land topography doesn't suit and it would probably only work if run through a tight forest (maybe they can get the land behind Hurler). In any event, that's why I don't think I would want anything that tall. Because of the cost, it would be too short. Now, Orlando is trying to circumvent those issues by building a "poler coaster" so that you get more bang for the buck but you lose the high drop. I'm good with 325 foot drop. Lets not do the strata and focus on family rides and maybe a good close to the ground, fast woodie.

I'd be more happy with an Xcelerator or Stealth sized launch coaster if it had a ride after the initial launch, spike, and drop than a strata like TTD.

If B&M (or anyone really) could develop a comfortable, reliable strata within the 10 - 15 million dollar price range, then I could maybe see more popping up. I think strata coasters as we know them now will probably never be built again unless you want to count the sorta-strata being constructed over a Ferrari World in Spain.
