I seen where they are rolling out a new app and ride times will be on it. I wonder how they keep that updated?

They've probably installed this system across all of the attractions (or the major ones at least). I'm sure that the ride ops will have some sort of thing set up that will count the average ride cycles, say, every 10 to 20 minutes in order to get an accurate estimate on ride wait times.

Someone should have had the idea to remix that movie a few years ago...

Looks like Timmy, Windseeker, Skytower, Ripcord, Southern Star, Slingshot, the Gliders, Woodstock Express, the helicopters, Nighthawk, Drop Zone and Cobra are all testing. You would think the park was open. lol

The KD Hurler is reported to be closed all season long. Any word on the Carowinds one? I'm really hoping for both to get RMCed.

Hurler is still listed on KD's site. I would rather Carowinds Hurler be left alone unless they are going to have GCI fix her up.

Whats up with this fascination with RMC? Seems like every time someone breathes on a wooden coaster, "I hope its RMC!". Yes they are new, yes people aren't use to their coasters but yeah they are one of many.

A "season" enthusiast would take a gander at what cedar fair is doing out west. That't probably your best bet. That or an RMC conversion . . . because we know that is what RMC is out to do, reclaim all current wooden coasters.

Yeah, I think if we do get an RMC eventually, I'd want it to be a custom layout. Hurler's potential is limited as an RMC, and I think if it did receive a conversion, it would probably only become the 3rd or 4th best coaster in the park. I'd want at least a top two ride from RMC, and I think the only way for that to happen would be a custom layout.

However, I would like GCI to continue improving Hurler. Along with continuing the retrack, I'd like to see an eventual retheme and more comfortable trains.

For me it's the fact that all coaster manufactures seem to be hitting base hits while RMC is knocking it out the park. Will RMC convert Hurler? More than likely not. Cedar fair has never contracted them before and probably never will. But I can dream.

In KD's Hurlers case, there will be no major changes at all and if retracked, GCI will be the go to company.

I personally think cedar fair is waiting for the hype to go down and also see how ROI on the current ones out there are doing.

New post:

Anybody know if Carowinds adopted the new money card system for the midway games like KD have done? That would be wonderful and incline me to play more games. Being from up north I just don't carry cash on me. Lol

I love every RMC coaster I've been on. However, I also love the classic wooden coaster ride. Every wooden coaster doesn't need to have RMC come in to convert it or work on it. I'm glad Cedar Fair hasn't jumped in and immediately started converting many of their wooden coasters.

Anybody who thinks Hurler is a waste of space needs to go up to Kentucky Kingdom and ride Thunder Run. All Hurler needs is a complete re-tracking and possibly some re-profiling. GCI did a great job with the drop and first turn, if they come back and finish the rest of the ride it will be a good wooden coaster.
