This quote really got me:
“It was neat to be able to move it instead of razing it,” Siebert said. Without saying too much about the future, he added, “You’re never sure when some other ride similar will be built.”

There's the proof that splintering or "razing" a classic ride is Paramount's first option. Kinda like they did with the Sternwheeler. Sounds like their original plan was to scrap the Eagles. If it's in the way, get ride of it! Not sure I like that way of thinking.

I'm just happy the Eagles were saved instead of razed.

I see what you mean. Its sad what they do to some rides. It is really disappointing. Have you ever went to defunct parks. com? To see the state of some of these parks and rides, makes me very disappointed. Im glad were getting the eagles and they didnt just scrap it.

Geez, some of you guys and your historical rides. Maybe we should just enjoy them next year instead of trying to prove your historical rides are being destroyed.

Almost makes you wish they didn't raze Stealth. It could join Shockwave in the melting heap.

Well you know how some people are, Just cant let go of the past and things like that......I mean why not go ahead and make a website where you can give the people the experience of taking them back to that time when the parks first opened. Then you can dwindle about the darn park and what was of it. Now theres a thought.......

Was Shockwave melted down? Gosh, I didn't know that. That was my first
stand-up coaster at PKD. I do wish they would've done something creative
with the Sternwheeler, like make it into a shop or something. I mean, it used
to be a symbol of Carowinds. Our new scooters sound like fun. I wonder if the
lines will be miserably long.

I can't believe the 2004 season is over. I will be at the Asheville Film Festival
this weekend so I won't be able to get back Carowinds before it closes. :(

Thanks for letting me join this board and amusing me with your entertaining
posts. You're a great bunch of guys. I'm so glad to have found people who
love Carowinds as much as I do. :)

Here's to the off-season.

P.S. Did anyone get RCT3? How is it?

To the "bruh" (see ebonics dictionary for translation) that doesn't appreciate preserving park history, have you ever heard of Kennywood, Knoebel's or Blackpool Pleasure Beach (to name a few)? Preservation is what put these parks on the map. I realize it's hard for you to see that point-of-view. All you want is bigger, newer & better. Very close-minded people think that way. I'm all for change, but there are ways to expand and preserve what you have. Paramount does not see it that way, nor does Six Flags. The corporate parks have tunnel-vision, just like some people on this board. Kinda sad.....
:(

BTW, have you ever contributed anything useful to this board besides your typical cynicism & mockery.......?? Silly question I know..... as we all know that answer.

Humm somebody seems a little upset.......Oh well. Just as you are entitled to your opinion I am also. But obviously you know everything about me right, right. However at this time I decline to make this personal on a public thread, I mean come on how mature is that. If you like to direct another message to me feel free to send me a PM, yeah a little nice one like you just did....... 'kay ;)

Now let me contribute something, Coastermom2 the shockwave he is referring to is the shockwave from six flags great america. It was removed for the sake of superman ultimate flight. It was just sitting there with rumors of being relocated to six flags new orleans. But I guess not now......
