I don't know if any of you ever chack out Ebay or any of the other auctions out there but I do from time to time. I did a search Tuesday for Carowinds and a gentleman had 2 Carowinds items.

The first item was the original brochure from the '73 season. It sold for 20.00 and I got outbid.

The second one is what I bought. $21.50 plus $2.50 shipping.
Description:

"The 1973 HOST & HOSTESS MANUAL (4"x7", you're seeing the front & back in the scan) is in near excellent condition except it was used to plan the next issue and has a few short handwritten notes in red ink by the owner and the General Manager. It and the four copies of 'the breeze from CAROWINDS' contains a great insight into the behind the scene training and rules for the employees. Also included is the 1973 CAROWINDS brochure, a summer employment brochure and a location & travel brochure. All items in near excellent condition." <--- and the Scans show it to be in great shape.

Maybe I'm dumb but I thought it to be a sweet deal expecially for the history buffs.

I got outbid on both items, and I bid on the "Three Brochure Collection" like 15min. before before the auction ended!

Oh well, hope you enjoy your 1973 Carowinds collection. <_<

I bought a 73 or 74 park map on ebay recentley for $16!!!

I've got it framed now, and hanging in my living room woo hoo!

I had gotten outbid earlier on another map a while back, so I just happened to search on Carowinds, and this one popped up.

'tis a good pic indeed. It's funny tho how someone will pay that much for a picture. Granted I paid for what I got and will, at a later time, tell what all I got.

One item of interest is this Carowinds Viewmaster reel. The cover features all four of the removed slower paced attractions.

The View Master reels are nice. I won a set of these on eBay a while back but I haven't bothered to get a View Master to see them in 3D. I've held them up to the light though. I wish there were a way to scan View Master pictures.

I used to have a viewmaster, It got broke. Do they still make thoose?

I'd love to own a Carowinds viewmaster reel, but I'm not paying $20.00 for it!!!

I've got my dad's old one from the 50's. It's plain black and looks to be made of that bakelite plastic stuff. I bet it's worth something.

I've even got reels of Disneyland in it's early days.

They do still make them. The old ones you had to hold up to the light to get the best effect. The newer ones have a built in light.

Yeah. I see them all the time. Mostly when I go to a national park. They have them.
