I'm only 16, so there are limited openings, but I have my eyes on the Ride Attendant position and photographer for Kaman's Art Shoppes (who Carowinds outsources the art stuff to).

Do any of you have recommendations/experiences? Any information would be much appreciated.

Working at Carowinds from 2004-2006 as Ride operator I would say do not do Rides, That is a fast paced experience and you are moving all day. Photographers isnt that bad or maybe doing games would be better for you.

We went to the park this past Saturday the 28th and I thought there was a wreck on the highway. Traffic backed up on both lanes turning into Carowinds for about a mile. All tolls were open. Parking lot was about full but I got a parking spot on the fourth row of Carolina Harbor :D Water park was very nice. Going back tomorrow to see if we can get a day in with small crowds before the summer rush.

Going next Tuesday (June 7th) to try and avoid the weekend madness ourselves.

Hope to be standing at the entrance to Fury at 9:30 am. :D

Looking forward to some great times at Carolina Harbor.

Am I reading to much into this or is t just coincidence that Carowinds posted this on twitter and the webcam for Fury is not on the website now? Is something going on with the flats? I know it's part of PvZ, but just wondering and kinda wishful thinking.

"WE" know. But the general public doesn't.

I would be willing to bet that more than 75% of the people in the park are oblivious. (I would be too if I didn't go out of my way to look for things online and read the posts on here, etc.) If you don't believe that, just listen to some of the crazy talk you hear while waiting in line.

Those kinds of signs would probably do a lot to hype up the people who fall into that category.

They don't.....? When it was posted by two or more newspapers.....
Again, not everything is a clue, it looks like there is latch just out of frame so I going to guess it is a gate either for restricted area or an emgency exit.

They may know about the new flats (if they even know what a newspaper is.)

My point is they don't know what additional things may or may not be coming. They don't know if Carowinds is getting a second giga-coaster next year or whether the park will be completely torn down next year. Just because YOU read the newspaper and read Carowinds Connection and have insights to other outlets, friends and park insiders doesn't mean everyone else does.

I live less than 90 miles away from the park and I put up a picture of FURY as my screensaver and most of the people in my office didn't have a clue what it was. I got comments like "I haven't' been to Carowinds in 20 years. I didn't know it was still there".

You would not believe the number of people I saw in the park that were astonished that TR wasn't there when I was there last August. They had no clue. Others were in line for Fury and I overheard crazy conversations about the specs of the ride. (People don't always see what's directly in front of them.) Other people were talking about TR being removed because Carowinds was getting another coaster as tall as Fury (this was AFTER the water-park announcement)

I think the amusement park enthusiast community is a VERY small group compared to the visitors at the gate. Like I said before... my guess is about 25% have a clue. I'd like to think its more but it's definitely less than 50. Everyone else just shows up and doesn't know what's around the next corner. Like the guy who I saw a month ago that stopped on the bridge to ask the attendant taking photos "Is Fury to the left or right?" He literally didn't have a clue. Umm. Dude. You have eyes don't you? Sorry, didn't know we hid Fury that well.

The sign has nothing to do with flats, it's theming at the PVZ queue. As to why they posted it? PVZ is a new attraction this year and the insta account is all about marketing. Nothing more.

Thanks for the info. I'd be okay with rides, especially since the only rides I'm old enough to operate are likely smaller, slower-paced rides. My main issue is with scheduling, since I don't live in the Charlotte area and could probably only work every other weekend. Do you have any idea how flexible they would be for scheduling in a situation like this?
