In a few months the park will announce this years haunt lineup for Scarowinds 2016!

I used to live in Orlando for 8 years and went to Halloween Horror Nights every weekend.

Just wanted to see everyone's thoughts about the new haunt locations in the park for 2016.

We lose two this year. The Plants Vs Zombies exit is occupied. The Mini Golf area where Corn Stalkers was is now just dirt.

Where do you think they will add the new haunts? Will they build a new building for one?

Dorney Park and Kings Dominion have over 10 haunts. We had 7 last year. I think it is time that Carowinds adds a few more.

- First time poster. Just always thought about this while in the park.

I'm still hoping for a Blood on the Bayou-type haunt in Rip Roarin's queue. I think they might do something with Dinosaurs Alive! too.

^ Is that even possible? I didn't think it has that large of a queue to support that. Its been well over 10 years so the queue area is a mystery to me. Also, what would they do with the dinos area in the day time? I remember a long time ago there we would be in a line that started where the fence between intimidator starts and the buildings where the sweet shop ends. Im not sure what house it lead to . . . ok I remember now, it was an outdoor one. I wonder if they could open that area up to lead to the picnic shelters?

Last year was my first time back to scarowinds in years as I have been assimilated by Halloween Horror Nights and Knotts Scary Farms! I wonder how many times do the people over SCarowinds gets to visit other places to get a feel of whats out there.

Maybe with Mini Golf gone, Cornstalkers will have more space.

I don't think they can do anything with the Dino area because of the licensing.

I hope that the park starts revamping SCarowinds. It really sucked last year. They need a new show and to redo their tired mazes.

I said this on the other Scarowinds thread that they should have a group venture to other cedar fair parks or any park for that matter to draw up a census on what to implement into Scarowinds just with their own flare. I've been to KD, KI, CP, SFOG, SFOT, SFGAdv and have been floored only to comback to Carowinds and just be alike a zombie, however I did enjoy the shows.

You were floored at all those parks yet dissapointed with what Carowinds offers? I know first hand scarowinds is much better than kd and sfog. Hell, any six flags cause I've been to sfa and sfmm during their haunts and there is barely any atmosphere and that pay per house gimmick is a turn off. I think scarowinds is definitely in the big boy league when it comes to park haunts and I say that as a frequent visitor to Halloween horror nights Hollywood and Orlando, Knotts scary farms and howl-o-scream in Tampa.

I can say out of all the haunts I have visited, scarowinds and Knotts scary farms are the two parks that use lots of animatronics and powered props.

This is what being floored looks like . . .

Well maybe I said that because I'm a frequent at Scarowinds, pretty much every year at least 5 or 6 times with friends and I guess I've grown numb to it. So when I go to other parks I'm just amused and excited. lol

Obviously. As to the reason I ventured out and stop doing Scarowinds so much. It's apparent SCarowinds gets its patrons from the teen crowds and they are easily pleased. the fact that it is still a separate gate event proves it.

Maybe I can get you to orlando for some REAL haunts . . .

So I'm in the waterpark; I've been here a few hours now and there are a lot of haunt managers and supervisors talking and pointing and different areas. As much as I want to think about it but I know it will never happen I think a few haunts could possible go in the waterpark. No? Lol. I mean why not? I know it far fetched.

EDIT: I lied looks like they're setting up for orientation or something.

There's empty space where in the parking lot as well . . .

There is probably a lot of empty space in the parking lot, especially since so many people feel unwelcome in North Carolina.....
The NC half of the park is dead while the the SC side is crowded. That explains the empty waterpark on the webcam.

Looks like we found out where a new haunt will show up this year for Scarowinds! :) This is taken from the parking lot of Carolina Harbor. Looking where Thunder Road once stood.

It would be nice if they redid the majority of the mazes and scarezones, SCarowinds last year was stale.
