I don't think that was sarcasm because I typed out something similar but deleted it after he beat me to it. But seriously... why would you think you had anything to do with him going on to bigger and better things for him?

Part of me thinks that you're implying that you've done some pseudo-stalking (like with Mike) and it freaked him out enough that he is moving on to get away from you. If this is the case (and lets be honest, why would you think what you think if this wasn't the case), don't do this with Pat. Say hi in conversation but don't seek her out to tell her the last time you took a dump, or that you're working on this or that at home, etc. You do the job you're being paid to do and she'll do the job she's being paid to do. Aside from a random encounter in the park or a company function, you probably won't see her anyway because she's at the park to talk and interact with guests, not so much the employees.

I think we often misinterpreted the origins of Carowinds. Hall went to Disneyland and was inspired by what he saw and wanted to build something of the same concept celebrating the carolinas. I don't feel he went out to replicate Disneyland as there was a stark difference between the two. Disneyland had dark rides and rides that told a story . . . as opposed to a scrambler and a log flume in the woods. Aside from the distinct areas, there wasn't any themed rides, shows or much scenery.

So, that's why I feel a former Disney exec wouldn't be all that great of a thing at Carowinds. Now a park like Dollywood or Knotts could greatly benefit from it.

Loving Tuesdays...

Hot as heck yesterday at the park. Couldn't go to waterpark because of my daughter's sunburns. But, most rides (save ricochet and Nighthawk) were almost walk-ons. Got there before 10 am, rode everything (some things several times), even saw the Rock and Country show and was back home in Columbia before 7 pm. Fury was a walk-on.

Pretty sure that is the waterpark hours. park hours right now are form 10am-8pm until Thursday. Friday they will go 10am-10pm until August. The waterpark is always from 11am-7pm.

Correct if I'm wrong gang.

Ummm, yeah, I so totally done that.
I only spoke to Mike when he was out and about in the park.
And pseudo-stalking?! Absolutely not. I can't honestly believe that you would even say that I'm implying that. Even from a highly respected ACE representative....

Really? Like, you're really using the "ACE Rep" line with me? Come off it already.

You posted here AND on Facebook that you honestly thought you were the reason behind Brad leaving. The ONLY reason anyone would think that about themselves would be if they did something that would make the person want to leave, i.e. stalking, harassing, etc. I never said you did that with Brad, just that if you think you're the sole reason for him leaving then something along those lines had to have happened. People don't just up and leave nice jobs for no reason. Which you knew the new position he was leaving for was better and you still implied that it was your fault.

As far as the Mike comment is concerned, again, you were constantly posting on here about how Mike said this and Mike said that - things that no one else knew (or cared to know). Since you lived in Virginia and didn't frequent the park often, the only way you would've been able to converse with him that often would've been through social media and/or email. I'm not sure I know anyone else who communicates with park management that much. Hell, I plan events at the park and have helped them out on numerous occasions and I didn't even talk to them that much.

So yeah, those things combined with the drawing of Mike, would be considered a bit much by most people. Especially seeing as no one else here (including myself) communicated with him as often as you did.

That is certainly understandable.

The portrait was drawn for two reasons: 1) I had never drawn one like it and wanted to test my abilities (however, I will admit it does not quite look accurate). and 2) I said that I would. I will say that nothing along the lines of "stalking, or harassing" were done. If so, then the problem would have been fixed a long time ago and I would still be in Virginia. I cannot control what people think, so think what you want. I'm just stating what was really happening.

And the 2 or 3 emails? Nothing personal was spoken. To be honest, I didn't even want to know. 1 of the 3 was about my model. The other 2 I cannot talk about. I work for a company. Anything that I talk to management about is strictly for the company.
Nothing more, nothing less. If you have any other questions just message me.

Ok. So if you know what happened, then why would post on here (and Facebook):

FamousAmos wrote:It's actually not that funny. Now I'm convinced that it is my fault.

I don't for one second believe you had anything to do with Mike or Brad leaving and I'm sure no one else here thinks you did as well. So don't keep posting that "you're convinced it's your fault" and then, when questioned about how and given the only reason that would be possible, get mad about it.

The other day, almost every time they would get close to 40 cycles per hour on it, something would happen. It all depends on how busy the park may be. Or maybe Maintenance thought that the train needed some rest and/or maintenance. I honestly don't know why we ran two trains today at Vortex. It wasn't necessary. Maybe they thought that two trains weren't needed today?

According to a visitor, patrons were stuck on the Windseeker, about 200 feet in the air, as well as the Afterburn, where riders were stranded in a tunnel.

What? Is this some exaggeration or did it valley?

Afterburn is very unlikely to valley in the tunnel, it always valleys between the speedhill and the batwing. Goldrusher has a history of valleying in its tunnel.
