I can hear the general public now. "If a power surge can fry something in the controls, what's to say it can't fry the safety features and send the gondola flying to the ground? OMG, Carowinds is not safe."

Well I believe the reputation of Wind Seeker has long been ruined before the latest outage. I don't come that often but it took me two years of visits before I got to ride it.. every other time it was broken, closed due to winds (ironic), closed due to rain, closed due to rain 100 miles away, closed due to the sun being at the wrong angle...

I'm at the park often and rarely see the ride down. Plus I'm by the park even more and rarely is it not running.

I have to disagree in a way, I live right around the corner from Carowinds and this season alone it has only been running on Saturdays and Sunday's. They blamed it staffing ( that flat out told me ) but other then this season there have not been a TON of issues with the ride.

Windseeker? Are we still on that topic? It was down some last season during my 12 visits but normally due to wind.

It's been in operation since opening day other than high wind and storm days and of course the power outage. It's been down ever since.

Not true. Every time I've been there this year, it's been open and was open the entire day. I NEVER go on weekends. Weekdays EVERY time.

Looking at their blog it looks like they originally planned to let people use both exits. It is curious that they seem to have the old one blocked all season
