Yes saw this on coaster nation's website. Very unfortunate. I'm praying for all individuals affected by this. It's suspected this was once a traveling carny coaster in the past. I know the UK have different ride safety laws which compared to the USA maybe a little laxed. Hopefully this and especially after the Smiler incident they'll up the inspection and safety laws.

...back to the topic of VR coasters, I just visited 3 parks that have them this year and here are my thoughts:

1) They are actually really cool and add to the ride experience. The footage is relatively well done and relevant to the ride layout.
2) They are killing capacity by increasing load times by 4-5X.

If they could find a better way to implement this and not kill loading times, it is a great experience.

Random notes:
- There appears to be a relatively high 'failure rate' of headsets not working and requiring a replacement (taking more time) - at least 1/12 or so
- You are not required to wear a headset
- The headsets are easy to adjust once you figure them out and are secure and comfortable

Chris wrote:Ok, so SkyRush at Hershey is easily my number 2 coaster now.

Did you find a way to make the restraints not crush you? Also did you try the wing seats? I really wanted to like that coaster, but those trains were just awful.

What's your #1?

My number 1 is Fury. I only got about 6 rides on SkyRush but out of all the seats I tried, I found the front, far left, wing seat to be my favorite. As for the restraints, I did not find them too terrible. The ejector air was so strong that yeah, I was being thrown into the restraints. But that insane ejector air more than made up for it. I felt like I would have been thrown 50 feet in the air without the restraints. As good as Fury's last few hills are at providing ejector, it pales in comparison to that found on SkyRush.

Storm Chaser is the bleeping bleep. Seriously. And while I'm on the subject, Lightning Run is as well, and Thunder Run is running insane.

Now I'm off to ride Holiwoodies and Thunderbird!

Can anyone give me advice on Six Flags Fiesta Texas?

1. I have to go on a Saturday because Saturdays are my only day off at my Texas job, and it's the only day I'll be able to get a ride over there anyway. So I was wondering how crowded it gets on weekends? I know its not one of the biggest/most popular six flags parks, but I'm still worried it will be crazy. Will I have time to do everything even if I leave several hours before it closes? (I wanted to leave early to go to a concert)

2. Do they have any rides that don't have bins/cubbies and require you to use lockers? It's not as important that this question gets answered but I'm just curious

I believe they had bins at all the major rides. The park will be busy. How long do you have? It's seriously one of the nicest parks out there, and def one of the, if not the, nicest SF park. Lots of good rides. But also lots of good shows. And it's not just a coaster park.

Sounds and looks like a coaster to me.....
RCDB only recently added Camden Park's Pretzel dark ride....
Superman The Escape is a coaster but Demon Drop isnt(I disagree).....
I suspect they will add the Larson Loopers first.....

I got here when it opened and I would ideally leave around 6:30, but if I don't get everything done that I want, then I can stay pretty much as late as I want.

So far my day is 10/10 because they let me on the Kidee Coaster by myself.

Also, I went on the VR coaster twice, once with VR and once without. The capacity at this park was not nearly as terrible as it was at SFOT. It was slower than normal, but it seemed like they had the routine down pretty smoothly and I probably only waited 1/10 as long on the final brake run as I did last time. My favorite part about the VR was thinking it was over and then realizing it was only the MCBR

Apparently Cedar Point is doing VR on Iron Dragon now?? Well kind of. They are taking people to sign up for beta testing. It started Friday but I hadn't heard anything about it until one of my friends went yesterday.
