Hurler renovation concept:

The new name: Blazin' Thunder

The theme/story: You've taken your 70's mustang to the Carolina Car Shop, only to realize the fuel in your car isn't gasoline- it's something much more powerful. This mysterious fuel sends you hurling across the Carolinas at speeds of up to 50 miles per hour, setting the Carolina roads ablaze.

The vehicles: Two 24-passenger millennium flyer trains, one blue and one yellow, themed to 70's era mustangs with flame accent graphics. License plates on the back of each train read "HUR-LER."

The ride:

Red: The first part of the ride is reprofiled to feature a double-up/double-down hill like the one on White Lightning @ Fun Spot. Another hill follows leading into the second turn.

Red-Orange: The second turnaround would be slightly elevated and less banked to provide laterals.

Orange: Following the turnaround would be a succession of small airtime hills, leading into the third turnaround. It would also be reprofiled to provide laterals. It would keep turning right into another airtime hill, changing the direction of the original course. The final turn would be kept flat.

Green: The ride would cruise over a few airtime hills before slamming into the brakes.

A longer Full Throttle with a second half similar to Maverick sounds glorious.

Anything down here from Mack or Premier would be great. Especially Mack, since Helix and Blue Fire have lower height requirements than B&M.

Have you been on it? I se you just recently have. New coasters would do that to ya. It's an ok coaster and deserves the praises it gets from the community . . . barely none.

New re-imagining of the Showplace rethemed to "Carolina Midway":

Vortex's queue has never made sense. You have to go halfway around the showplace just to get to the entrance, and it's not even near the station. So I would relocate the entrance and open up a new pathway right next to Vortex. That way, you can get to the entrance immediately after you exit the arbor tunnel.

Then, I would place Dodgems in the area where the fountain used to be. I would rename it "The Autodrome."

Next, I would relocate RRR to Scrambler's current spot and rename it "Carolina's Ramblin' River." I would place Scrambler next to the theater in Papa Luigi's spot, rename it "Kaleidoscope," and relocate Papa Luigi's to the front gate.

I would replace Papa Luigi's with a sitting area as a way to escape the crowds.

Finally, I would string up the whole area with lights to give it a new energy at night.

 Here we go again, I have seen the Rapids que full in the last couple years. The only thing I agree with is adding a walkway straight to Vortex from the Arbor Shade.

I'm not doubting RRR had it's day. and it may have had a few busy days last season. But, if it can't get more than a 15 minute wait on the peak time on the hottest day of the year in Charlotte on a weekend, we can re-evaluate. Carolina Harbor has changed that demographic.

I would build a bridge to span the access road for the entrance and exit. There's room for some queue on the ride side of the road and the Scrambler footprint would provide PLENTY of room to build a nice wooden, shaded structure that keeps with the theme to house the rest of the queue.

My horrible photoshop skills show the entrance in green, exit in red.

Alas, one can dream. I truly think the only way the queue will be moved is when the ride is taken out.

Mack's got a pretty nice ride catalog. I want these things:
Preferably in Nighthawk's spot. :)
Gets you wet, but not too wet. Like a flume!
Actually, you do get soaked in the back. But still! Launched water coaster!
This would be an awesome in Planet Snoopy!

The wing coaster pictured is Thunderbird, a launched wing coaster. It is much different than any of the traditional wing coasters.

So if Carowinds were to get a winged coaster, then is the launched version the better choice? But for a launched coaster, I still think a Maverick style or Mack version would be better.

No. Coaster designers designs what the parks wants. The parks don't just take what the designers hand them. It could be launched or non launched. All the wing riders do not ride the same.
