Okay, a few things then I'm done.
The figure number I threw out there earlier does not include paying for equipment and the employee labor; that is only material cost, and from ground-up.

Parking lots in the state of North Carolina are now required by law to have islands and/or trees in their parking lots (when built from ground-up), so since the parking lot is already there, the park doesn't have to add islands within it. But I do agree that it would improve the overall aspect and look of it. Just give it 10 years for the trees to fully grow

So anyway... About 2017???

So you're good with being just like everyone else? Of course people are still parking in them. What else are they gonna do? I'm just looking for ways to help the park stand out from the rest, not be just like the rest.

Looking at some of the resorts for other Cedar Fair parks, Camp Wilderness seems pretty undersized. Kings Dominion's campground has about 40 cabins, Cedar Point has over 150 cabins/cottages (granted it's far bigger and busier than Carowinds), and even Worlds of Fun has 40+ cabins/cottages. On top of that, the Carowinds cabins look kind of shabby compared to the other ones in the chain. I know I don't know the first thing about running a theme park, but it seems like it would make more sense to expand Camp Wilderness first before moving on to a hotel.

Many of the cabins at the campground are fairly new, and they just repaved the one section of the campground last year as well as built a new bath house, with no real announcement about it that I recall. They are improving the campground every year so I see that continuing. Probably not tied to any announcement unless they do something big.

(still looking for my pics from a year or two ago...)

I feel like they're going to wait until next year to announce a Christmas event depending on how well Winterfest does at CGA.

And I still vote for calling our event "Carolwinds."

Depends on how deep in the woods you go, people already call the park that anyway. Well, thats what it sounds like.

I'm being realistic. As a business, they can't really market the BEST PARKING LOT EVER! Nobody cares. That's why they dump the minimal amount of capital in it. With all of the money they've poured in to the park, they do stand out. A new parking lot will not effect that.

As an enthusiast, id rather them spend what they must on the parking lot instead of millions (either all at once or spread out) when they can use that money to make the park better and attract more people. Parking lots, no matter how nice, don't pull in new people.

For example:
our new employee lot is gravel, not paved.
No need to spend lots of money on something that doesn't really need that much.
