The teaser campaign for 2017 appears to be underway and the announcement looks to potentially be August 18.

The park has set up the "Higginbotham Hotline" where new messages will be posted each week. The number is 704-943-2802.

I'm expecting you all to catalog all of these messages. :)

I didn't transcript the calls as I'm not very good with that. Additionally my connection wasn't very clear. I'm sure someone will transcript the entire dialogue. The notes that I took from things that seemed out of the ordinary are:

Press 1 - The Mayor - He talked about 'something big' and 'fluffy funnel cake.'
Press 2 - Granny - She talked about 'fun raising' - or was it 'fund raising'? I know she's the fund raising department but it sounded like 'fun' to me - no surprise there. She also said she had to 'tend to flowers.'
Press 3 - Patty - She mentioned 'movement & excitement' as well as 'rock & roll'
Press 4 - The Deputy - He mentioned something about 'bumper cars' and 'square dancing.'

Have at it...

Carowinds' fb page didn't use #Vote4More, instead it was spelled out #VoteFourMore—implying a numerical connection, as opposed to "vote for more". I'm gonna guess that literally means there are four more attractions coming in 2017 that weren't spoiled earlier this year. Maybe four more flats?

I don't know why, but I think it's unlikely to be anything "bigger". Though maybe one or more Carolina Harbor additions could be in the works? Personally, I'm hoping a frisbee is included in this expansion; and I don't think that's too unlikely, considering KD got one this season.

I wonder why they places to teaser sign next to the entrance of Fury? Was just looking at google maps and it doesn't appear to be much room for any ride behind that fence. There is a service road but they won't tear that up.

Why tease 5 classic flat rides next to one of the most thrilling coasters on the planet? I wonder if there will be these signs appearing in the County Fair section soon too?

^^ Yea as stated before most of the guest are there for Fury anyway so why not put up teasers in that area. They teased Fury at the front of the park and look where it's located, in the back corner. There is definately room in thrill zone for another flat and if you noticed, they're actually relocating the service road as well. I just dont think its for ride expansion at this moment.

Well, you will note that this is Higginbotham's reelection campaign. When did the mayor show up? Near the beginning of all the massive amount of work that Carowinds started doing. Four more years of Higginbotham could mean four more years of continued extensive investments/enhancements to Carowinds to make it a destination.

If you remember back to comments about the new plaza, it was designed to handle over 3 million guests. The mark for 2 million guests was hit last year, so in order to bring it up to 3 million guests, they know there is still a lot of work to do.

I see a lot more family friendly things coming to the park over the next few years with some thrill rides worked in here and there.

That's what I'm reading into it so far...

Given the attendance spikes that came with Intimidator and Fury, I think you'll still see a good number of thrill rides in the future. Not to say that a family oriented expansion would not be welcomed.

If there's an access road that could be moved, I vote the one at the entrance to Fury. I've always thought that should be open to the public so that people can flow from the entrance straight into the Fury Section avoiding the vine tunnel and the walk around the theater. Make the Scrambler an island that the public can walk all the way around. Move Luigi's Pizza if you have to. As to the access road, there's another access road between the Paladium and RRR that they can use.

While they're at it, they can move the RRR queue line to near where Luigi's is now. (Never thought that it's entrance should be in the Plaza anyway. not to mention a mile walk in the queue to the ride.)
