Thinking of 2018 coasters, this has been on my mind for awhile now. What are the chances (if there even are any) of Carowinds seeing another coaster being added in 2018. I say this purely off the fact that Cedar Point got Valravn three years after Gatekeeper and Kings Island getting this GCI three years after Banshee. Given the park's rapid growth, I guess this could happen, but at the same time I see this as unlikely.

Not trying to sound like a wishful/unrealistic fanboy, just thought I'd throw this out there. Not intending to start any rumors or raise any hopes, this has just been on my mind for awhile. Thoughts?

Caroline's got a new coaster every year or every other year in the late 90s to early 2000s. I wouldn't expect anything as grand as fury for at least a decade, but the park will get a new
Coaster sooner or later. My bet is sooner.

Which is why I think that GCI should renovate Hurler. It's a great ride for those who are transitioning from small to larger coasters. Just needs the trim removed, slightly different track reprofile, and new wood.

I feel the same way about Goldrusher. I'd love if Vekoma came in with new trains, lowered the height requirement to 40" (where it should be), and increased the capacity. And if they added a few new tunnels or animatronics, they could market it as a new experience.

if RMC or GCI or anyone renovate hurler, it will still be the same height restriction. I think a family coaster like Firechaser Express or a spinning mouse would be a welcome addition.

Family Coaster would be a good anchor attraction for re-vamped county fair.

It's just so much developed, under developed land at the park that the possibilities of future attractions are limitless.

I mean I guess it could go, but who knows. Kings Island still has their's five years later with no signs of taking it out. I'm sure it brings in some revenue. I've grown to ignore it now and often forget that there are just dinos placed randomly throughout the park. Unless they plan on expanding Planet Snoopy, I don't see a point in taking it out. Though I definitely would not complain if they did.

EDIT: Thought about double posting but didn't really see the point. I've always enjoyed looking at the construction galleries here and was wondering if anyone had pictures of Ricohet, Flying Ace, Saturator or Cobra's construction. I know there used to be a website for Cobra but I haven't been able to find it in a while.

The initial contract for the Dinos is 5 years. As with the mini golf at Carowinds, I'm sure we will see it continue to operate and make some revenue until they need that plot of land for something else, or the operating costs are higher than the money it pulls in.

How much revenue are they making really since its included with the gold season pass which most get for the parking.

Enough revenue that they aren't rushing to take it out and replace it yet. Obviously. Because if it were a loss leader, it wouldn't be there. Rob Decker just covered this and I've said it on this site before. Rides and attractions stay around until they become too expensive to operate, and/or they need that land for something else. Since this is an up charge, it'll remain iluntil it's either too expensive to operate or till they need that land more than they need Dinos.

Not to mention if the people vote with their feet. I still see people out there each day. Not hardly enough, but there are still a few.
