I just cannot bring myself to counting the same coaster track as a "new" credit. Regardless if the train was turned backwards, sideways, changed to floorless, changed restraints . . . its still the same coaster. I get a different experience/feeling in the front and back seat of fury, maybe thats two credits???

Anybody been around long enough to remember when that Arcade tent showed an IMAX style movie? Between that and Blackbeard's Revenge, that was a great corner to cool off.

That midway and corner has been deadly for attractions. I feel like Cobra's been there the longest. Originally flat rides (witchdoctor), then Blackbeard's revenge, then that gunboat game where you shot balls with air cannons, then Super Saturator.

Not to mention White Lightning died on the other side.

I only remember the Tent as an arcade, I remember when Carowinds had 3-4 arcades. The Tent, The Old Theater where Reptar is now, AFX(which now has a couple games again) and the one in RFD. Cinema 180 replaced Black Widow which was moved to that location for White Lightning. Surfer was there originally.

Predictions for where the flats will go:

-Topscan, Wave Swinger, and Music Express will end up in county fair. The Top Scan will go in Thunder Road's former entrance plaza. The Wave Swinger will replace Yo-Yo, and I have no clue where the Music Express will go.

-The Breakdance will be located in the grassy area between Carolina Cobra and Southern Sidewinder.

-The Troika will be located in Dockside Fries' spot.

I'm assuming the Breakdance will be themed to the Carolina Square Dance if that new hint means anything.

I am sure it will be a staged media event where ever it is. The past few years it was at Harmony Hall. But usually it is invitation only if I recall. Will be interesting to see how it is announced this year. Perhaps Mayor Higganbotham will be there.

I was under the impression the announcement wouldn't be in-park this time, instead it'll just be online information, coupled with press releases and local news interviews. Like a normal Cedar Fair announcement instead of a big event that something like Fury or Carolina Harbor would've called for.

These would be my predictions as well, though I am still slightly skeptical about the Vortex conversion. I could see the 4th item being a new show or something instead of that. I also think all 5 flat rides will be announced.
