They are rerouting the access road behind Hurler further North into the woods.

Not to drift too far from 2017, but if that road relocation is for park expansion and not something unrelated, I would have to suspect Hurler may be a goner, and yeah I think a woodie would be the perfect replacement. Hopefully they keep most of those trees and don't bulldoze everything. I never thought a ride in the woods would ever be possible at Carowinds, but perhaps it is.

Cedar Fair did say in their conference call they were spending like $150 million next year and the only big project announced in the chain is Mystic Timbers....

Hes an hourly employee of the park. Any info Amos has is from internet and employee rumors.

:-D :-D

Well he was a former friend of the previous GM, so that could qualify as an insider to me. And he seemed to know about the demise of Thunder Road before the public announcement, so he does seem to know something. And I think I recall he had an idea as to the eventual replacement for Thunder Road, in addition to the water park expansion. Although he did not really say. So perhaps he may have some knowledge regarding the long term plans for Carowinds in the coming years. Or then again, he may just be speculating like most of the rest of us. But I have never actually met the young man, so I can't properly judge. I can only appreciate his talent, creativity, and enthusiasm.

With all due respect to Amos, hes never really done much more than confirm hes read and heard rumors. None of whet was mentioned was a secret by the time he talked about it. Nobody is spolling secrets to an underaged (now employee) kid thats a newcomer to the scene because thats at best a liability and at worst a disaster. Which is why some od us have constantly reminded Amos to be careful in the few times he has been told something or been in the right plaace at tge rught time and starts yapping.

And everybody was friends with the firmer GM, lol.

Back on topic, Cedar Fair markets Disk O Coasters as new coasters...

Don't get my hopes up. That's just what I've wanted for a long time. Well, it's one of the things I've wanted for a long time. Alongside a nice launch.

Just in case I haven't been vocal enough in my hatred for Hurler: I effing hate that "coaster" and wait anxiously for the day its existence is but a distant, unpleasant memory.

I'd rather the park keep Hurler and rework it rather than tear it down. The park needs more coasters for kids at 48," not less.
