Funny. I think it's the exact opposite. The overview seems to me like the one where the artist/marketing dept. wanted to make things "more interesting" (as you put it) and showed all of the rides closer together to fit them all in one overhead shot. That entire rendering shows pathways that look more narrow than the rest of them, and several other inconsistencies.
My money—metaphorically speaking—is on the wave swinger being roughly where mini-golf used to be. That makes the most sense and excuses a lot of the questions the overhead shot has raised regarding placement of the new rides in relation to the slides and other structures.
That being said, these are just renderings. They're far from exact and we likely won't know EXACTLY where anything is going until they place them (or the permits come out). Same goes for the colors, landscaping improvements, tree additions, and the string lights/signage. Hopefully all of those extra touches come to fruition but, like the rendered volleyball court in Carolina Harbor, nothing is an absolute certainty until it's actually installed.
