Last pipe dream of the summer!
So this next idea is a tweak of my original concept for the Showplace. I present to you the revitalized
Carolina Showplace!

Shield your eyes. My original concept included changing the pathway to Vortex, the relocation of RRR's entrance, and a resting space where Papa Luigi's currently is. The new concept would keep those thing, and introduce three things:
The Sound Circus would return in place of the fountain pad in front of Vortex. It would host music shows like it did in the 70's, along with a variety of different shows.
Next, Rip Roarin' Rapids would see some major changes:
The ride would be renamed "Ringo Racoon's River Adventure," and it would reintroduce the park's original characters. The characters would be singing animatronics littered across the ride's layout, and the ending section would be enclosed. The ride experience would be sort of like a hybrid between Monster Mansion and Popeye Rapids. The current boats would be replaced with higher capacity rafts from Whitewater Attractions.
The third thing would be more spontaneous entertainment. There would be several street performers, similar to the ones you would find in downtown Asheville.
This would really turn the area into a true "showplace" and not just a place located near a theater.
