They didn't show plans at Great America. They showed potential expansion ideas at the time. Ideas change.

I am curious as to why you say that. I always thought they would be a good addition to some of their water parks.

Plans change too....
That said, how often do any U.S. Parks add water coasters?

I'm just a messenger, Arby.

And why is there a RollerBee sized echo in here?

I'm not saying it won't happen, it's just unlikely in the next few years. If at all ;).

Although I have never been on a water coaster I think we'd benefit more from a plethora of slides and other activities. Would I like to have one? Yes.

I'm curious to know the cost / maintenance of said water coaster versus slide complexes.

With the amount of people I witnessed at C3 in the water park, coupled with the lack of tubes, several more slide complexes would have benefited the GP greatly. I know a lot of the park was closed that day but even if they would have been open there is so much more needed there for crowd flow.

Yeah, I noticed the same think MarkD. Fortunately with the expansion of Carolina Harbor they do have lots of room for more slides and I guess that will be the primary additions we will see in the near future.

Your past information has been proven accurate, Edwardo, so your first answer was good enough for me. :) I was prodding to see if it was more an educated guess or possibly from other sources and now I have my answer. Most of us know nothing is 100% until it does or does not happen.

The cost of say a water slide of the water coaster is about 6-9 million vs say a mack water coaster which is around $20 million in Australia I'm not sure about us dollars

If anything, making sure that the water components of each slide remain functional would probably be the biggest expense.
Oh, and it was nice to see you today Edwardo

I didn't quite understand the first part of the sentence... Were you saying a [Proslide] type water coaster is about $6-9 Mil and a Mack water coaster is around $20 Mil?

My 2018 wishlist/pipe dreams!

Image

I'm with chknwing about converting Vortex in that it wouldn't make the ride any better. But the park could advertise it as a "new" coaster, and a new coaster = more guests. Low cost for a new coaster = more profit. Rename it "Puma," get a logo similar to Rougarou's, play the panther roar sound effect when the train is dispatched.

Image

I've been beating this one into the ground, but Splash Country has three mat slides. Three!

Image

Hopefully the art deco buildings and stage will be gone by 2018, replaced with something more classy.

Image

The most expensive wish: a Luminosity-style show to replace the Paladium. Imagine it here underneath Fury's lighting!

I need to stop.
