Hey guys just stopping thru and recently I have been seeing some not soo good comments about a park that we so ever "love". I know there is always room for improvements but quite often we just post what we dont like about things and what something lacks. So this is basically a place to post what you like about carowinds and how much you appreciate the park!

Okay........I really am glad that carowinds is my home park because its close, first of all. And its a real cool place to go. If it wasn't for carowinds I wouldn't have met some of the cool people I have met. I wouldnt be able experience one of a kind rides like Top Gun and FSS just to name a few, and I wouldnt have anything to do on the weekends when im bored at home!!

Now back to my lazy boy...........

I am glad that carowinds is not a Six Flags park because with Paramount, we get a new attraction almost every year.

Funny you mention that Cephas if you think about it Paramount Parks have really good employees (Most of the time) and plus paramount takes real good care of there rides like six flags you will see alot of rides that are down most of time. So i am glad Carowinds is a Parmount Park and i am glad i am working at a Paramount Park.

Where to start...

Carowinds has a lot of fond memories for me since I was born in Charlotte and have lived here all my life.

The more I look around the amusement industry the more I really have come to appreciate Carowinds.

If you do some looking on rcdb.com you'll find that most parks outside of the chains like Six Flags, Cedar Fair, Paramount are small parks that you're lucky to have 2 coasters if any at all.

People complain all the time about us having clones (Hurler, Thunder Road, Borg, Flying Super Saturator) but what major chain today doesn't buy clones? Maybe Cedar Fair, but Six Flags is clone city.

I don't have an issue with clones that much, as long as it's not themed exactly the same, etc. And in fact both Flight of Fear's at PKI and PKD are both equally great IMO and they are exact copies. big deal. It's a fun ride!

Carowinds at the beginning of the season seemed to make a big headway in the customer service standpoint, and for the most part that held true throughout the season.

Carowinds is also close for me, only about 25 minutes from my front door. Many people in the country have to drive hours to get to a park. I'm glad I have a park I can go to for a couple hours of coaster riding and then head home if I want to.

I like Carowinds, but there are places that it could improve. But that's for another thread. Right bruh? ;)

3- Country Kitchen
4- People I've met
5- Watching happy Families
6- Outer Hanks
7- 30 minutes away
8- Ride ops (ERT sessions)
9- Shade
10- Constant improving of the park in the off season. (wether we like what they do or not. At least they do something pretty cool.)

I forgot one thing...

Actually getting to semi-race on Thunder Road on the last operating day of the year!!! w00t. I had to request it of course, but the rideops got us all pumped up and shouting and screaming to race.

If only it could be that way all the time...

NFFS wasn't a clone, it was the first of it's kind. And the only other coasters like it are Roller Soaker and Hydra fighter 2 (i wish i could've ridden it before it went SBNO), not only did they open after FFS, they don't have the same layout

And Borg isn't a clone either, it's the only coaster on earth with that layout.

And PKD's hurler is technically a clone of ours, considering it opened in April, not in march

So, the onl clone in the park is Thunder Road.

;)

Here are some of my fav things:

1. The park has rides for all ages
2. The Ride-ops are nice
3. Great Coaster collection
4. Well Maintained rides.
5. The mechanics are fast (at least they were when i went in april, the got borg fixed up in less than 10 mins, and the took a train off and put it on the test track in about 12 mins)
6. They finally realized that we need more flats (*looks at flying eagles*)
7. The park is very clean.

Let's face it, Carowinds is awesomefied! Here are some of the best things about Carowinds:

Great Coasters - They have one of the best collections anywhere in my book. four great woodies (including a Mine Style), a nice corkscrew (CC), one of the best inverts anywhere (Top Gun), a flyer (Great themeing on Borg), a standup (The second one ever made) and a very rare water-based invert (Super Saturator). And lets not forget that we have a junior invert (Reptar), junior woodie (Scooby) and Junior Steel (Taxi Jam). These are perfect "Starter" coasters for new young riders. Try to think of another park with 3 Juniors, they are hard to find. Carowinds has an enviable collection of coasters overall when compared with almost any other park.

Good flats - One area that could be improved (and will be with the addtion of the Flyers coming next year! WHOOTAH! :P :P :P ). They do have Drop-Zone, one of the best drops period, an original scrambler/merry mixer which are always fun, RRR a really good water ride which has improved with it's modifications, the 3-D theatre with very entertaining shows, great bumpers and a sky flyer among others.

Great Food - Country Kitchen and Wings both offer really good food and nice atmosphere. And I understand that Outer Hanks is really good, though I havn't personally tried it yet (I know, my bad. It's my new goal for 2005!), These places are well maintained and clean as well.

Great Atmosphere - The Carolina Boardwalk area is one of my favorite places in any park. It's the perfect blend of old style Carowinds and a fresh new attitude, I love that!

Great Employees - Sure, you get a cranky one no matter where you go but for the most part, I find Carowinds employees to be courtious, helpful and quite knowledgeable.

Great Website - Jonathon has a great site here. Dedicated to our park with alot of intelligent and interesting people contributing. Kudos to Jon-Boy! :)

I have met many cool people through Carowinds and CarowindsConnection too! Jonathan, Jay, Dave, Foreseer and many others. I like our park and the people i've met because we can all just go to an event like C3 and have a good time without all the politics and stupid crap that goes on with alot of other events. Its about having fun and that's what we do! Sort of like the Monkees, I'm too busy riding to put any coaster down. Or something like that.

After living in Nashville - with no amusement park closer than 2 or 3 hours away....It's so nice to just drive 20 minutes & get to one. :D

Ok let's see...what do I like about the park? I like the fact that it is the closest park to me. I also like the fact that it is a sister park to two other 'kick-hiney' parks that I have visited and love. They almost make me forget that there is even a Six Flags in Georgia. This year I just appreciated the park for what it is instead of what it's not. It is a beautiful park and I love the environment there.

Wow! Yall most have clicked on my signature alot to bring Coasterbruh out of retirement so soon!!!(lol):D  :D

Carowind is where i rode my first amusement park ride! I love it. It's my home park and is only about 30 to 40 minutes away from my house!!!

All of your opinons are basically the same as mine, so I wont post them.

I guess this means that I'll have to change my sig. Oh well, I have a good idea about what to do about that!!!

EDIT: I changed my sig. Check it out!!! :D

I forgot one other thing... don't start bruh, you'll be as old as me someday ;)

A nice surprise this year is how nice management has become. With the addition of the guy from PKI (can't remember names) every time (which was only 2 or 3) I contacted or stopped to make a comment to management they were always friendly and acted like they really cared about my experience at the park.

Especially the guy from PKI. He even thanked me for coming out to the park that day!

I will miss Scott though, I wish him all the best at Riverbanks Zoo.

I might as well chime in on this thread...

1) Having a funnel cake when leaving the park. Its almost like a tradition for me.

2) The nightime marathons on the Hurler when it was running good. Nothing like plopping down in a seat near the front for a few rides nonstop. Nothing like some nighttime airtime on the Hurler.

3) Ricochet. I don't think enough can be said about this mouse. Its funny and pretty much nearly brakeless the few times I was on it this year.

4) Wings. Its always nice to go in for some semi decent food and just chill out for a bit.

5) Some of the past memories that I've had at the park. Maybe that should be a thread in itself one day.
